Nightmare Rex Draft SW145SD Draft! - Insane - Dec. 29, 2012

Nightmare Rex Draft SW145SD Draft!!!

Face: Rex

The Face Bolt depicts one of the most well known dinosaurs, the Tyrannosaurus Rex. It features black, circular, rock-like designs atop and below the Tyrannosaurus Rex's skull. The design is outlined in black and is printed onto a translucent, light orange Face Bolt.

Clear Wheel: Rex

Rex, as it's name states, is designed in harmony with resemblance to Tyrannosaurus Rex's head, neck, and tail on the Energy Ring's two sides, in which they go into one another. Rex is a translucent gold in color, with swampy greenish highlights on the Tyrannosaurus Rex's neck and tails. Though you can only see it if you were to apply the stickers.

Metal Wheel: Nightmare

Nightmare bears resemblance to the Storm or Galaxy metal wheel in that it features a three-winged design with a not-so-big small gap between the wings. Performance-wise, Rex is horrible in attack, in which it has no smash power. The wings curve into Nightmare's main contact points, giving it no attack potential whatsoever; with Blitz and Beat severely outclassing it. Although when in battle, the defense and stamina part of the wheel gives somewhat of a challenge as it fends off oppenents. Just because it is decent in stamina, it is also outclassed by Duo and Phantom. It should never be used in a competitive situation.

Track: Switch 145

SW145 has three 'wings'. The gimmick of this Track is the ability to change from Attack to Defense by taking off the wings, and then putting them on the opposite way. The purpose of this is the ability to adapt to opponent Beys. In Attack mode, which is denoted by six grey claw-like stickers on the underside, the pointed ends of the Track are used for Smash Attack; meanwhile in Defense mode, shown by three triangular blue stickers, the edges are more rounded, in order to deflect opponent Beys. The modes are reversed for Left-Spin Beys. Testing has shown that SW145 is quite useful at attacking lower opponents in a similar fashion to H145 and R145. It is however outclassed for Defense purposes by GB145, BD145, and 230 due to the recoil it produces.

--Use in Smash Attack Customization--
SW145 finds a use in the rather niche customisation Lightning L Drago SW145RF, lining up with the heads of Lightning to provide Smash Attack.

Bottom: Semi-Defense

SD is the reason to buy this Beyblade. Just as the Semi-Flat Bottom has a sharper tip than Flat, so too does Semi-Defense when compared to Defense. Before the release of SD, D was the absolute best Stamina Bottom available, but soon, SD quickly took over the top spot as it was recognized more sufficient than D.

SD is not able to wobble as much as D, so for defensive purposes, D should still be chosen over SD if you are trying to add some Stamina to your Defense custom. That being said, WD would be a better choice than D for that situation, and also arguably for Stamina as well because with the even wider tip. With it, it is allowed to circle the stadium in some situations when it is on a larger angle towards the end of a battle, thus outspinning D or SD based opponents. However, sometimes this does not happen, and SD easily knocks over the wobbling WD custom before it topples over itself.

It really comes down to personal preference when deciding whether to use SD or WD because they are so closely matched. For pure Stamina it impossible to tell which would win a given match, but WD would prepare you for more situations by being able to take hits better than SD. Test both and decide for yourself which one works best for what you are trying to do.

--Use in Stamina Customization--

SD is arguably the best of the “Defense” series of Bottoms, and its effectiveness can be utilized in the custom Burn Bull AD145SD.

Overall:

This beyblade is beautiful in color and design. It has 1 competitive part, while the other parts have no competitive use at all. For this reason, this beyblade should be kept for "Collection" and partly "Use."

We already have a good SD section that should be used from the Dark Bull article on beywiki. Also this bey doesn't have two competitive parts. What did you think the one apart from SD is?

Well in some people may agree in some cases, SW145. Why? This is my first time writing an article.

RE: Nightmare Rex Draft SW145SD Draft! - Ultra - Dec. 29, 2012

Nope that isn't a competitive part and it never has been.

Well I got the approval to do this by Kai-V

Eh, some punctuation mistakes and needs a little more detail but good for your first time.

RE: Nightmare Rex Draft SW145SD Draft! - Insane - Dec. 29, 2012

No problem Mr. N. I'll get to it right away!

RE: Nightmare Rex Draft SW145SD Draft! - Rush - Dec. 29, 2012

Hmm, nice for your first draft! I will edit some parts a bit, once I get to a computer or my iPad. The Overall section usually talks about its performance, and not its looks. Also, a bit more should be added to the Nightmare section. A concluding sentence would be nice, such as, "Although it is decent in Stamina, Nightmare is severely outclassed by Duo and Phantom. It should never be used in a competitive situation."

RE: Nightmare Rex Draft SW145SD Draft! - Kai-V - Dec. 29, 2012

You were way too heavily inspired by the Beyblade Wikia article, which is really not good. You did not even mention anything about Nightmare's performance in Defense ...

Here, we start drafts from zero, and everything that is built comes from the contributor's personal, advanced experience with the Beyblade's parts as well as experiences from other Bladers in the community. You should absolutely never even read anything from anywhere else when you write.
