__TOC__

‘’’’’Note:’’’ Screw Lyra ED145MF was released as a Random Booster by TAKARA-TOMY, while Hasbro released it as a starter.

Name Change
Screw Lyra ED145MF was released by Hasbro as Spiral Lyre ED145MF

Face: Lyra
The Face on this Beyblade depicts Lyra, one of the 88 constellations in space. Lyra is often represented by an Eagle or Vulture carrying a lyre. On this Face, the Lyre appears to be burning, and the two semicircles on its bottom represent eyes.

Clear Wheel: Lyra
This Clear Wheel is made to represent a lyre. It has a mirrored design, with two spirals on its sides. One spiral curves to the right, while the other curves to the left. At the top of the Wheel is a series of raised lines. This mirrored design is the cause of its imbalance; because of this, no uses have been found for it. It is translucent black in color.

Metal Wheel: Screw
This Metal Wheel has a series of irregular sloping wings, much like the Metal Wheel Storm, and it was clearly created for use in Attack combos. At the top of each wing, there is a curved spike, useful for Upwards Smash. Although not top-tier, Screw can be paired with specific Clear Wheels such as Horogium and Pisces to uncover its contact points, which in turn, provides better Smash Attack. Screw is outclassed by other Attack Wheels, though, such as Variares and Flash, and has no particular use unless none of the after mentioned parts listed above are available.

Track: Eternal Defense 145
* Weight: 3.6g
ED145 features three “wings” which rotate around the Track freely. The wings are similar to that of WD145. Because of their free-spinning nature, they can be used in Defense customisations, such as MF-H Basalt Bull ED145RS; however, the defensive capabilities of this part are not as effective as GB145, TH170, or BD145, as it does not absorb hits as successfully. The wings which rotate are hindered without the mechanism of a bearing, hence creating a force of friction between the wings and the body of the Track, in turn resulting in less significant damage absorption. Furthermore, it is easy for the low attacker’s Wheel to be caught between the Wheel and ED145, causing a lot of recoil and spin reduction to the Defense customization.

Use in Spin Stealing Customization
ED145 has only remained useful in Spin Stealing combinations such as MF-F Meteo LDrago ED145EDS due to its free-spinning wings which allow for improved last-second endurance over the opposing bey.

Bottom: Metal Flat
Metal Flat is a flat tip that is made out of metal, therefore giving it a rather agressive movement. Due to this Bottom being made of metal, it has very little use in Defense customizations, and lacks in speed compared to other tips such as WF and XF. The fact that it can retain the Flower Pattern, though, makes up for its lack of speed and Defense. It also has significantly more Stamina when compared to the more aggressive rubber flat tips such as RF, R2F, and LRF, and can outspin even top tier Stamina Bottoms like WD. The fact that its Stamina is at this level, makes it extremely useful for Tornado Stalling customs. It is also easier to control than WF, due to it having a smaller surface area to cover, making it less aggressive, as mentioned above. MF does have some reported breakage issues, in which the metal tip falls out of its plastic base.

===Use in Attack Customization==
MF can be utilized in an effective Attack combo when combined with Flash to produce the top-tier combination MF-H Flash ____ W145MF.

Use in Tornado Stalling Customization
Metal Flat can be put to great use in the Tornado Stalling custom MF-L Phantom Cygnus 85MF. What this combination does is out spin even the best Stamina types by Tornado Stalling around the Tornado Ridge without touching the opposing Beyblade at all, until the very end of the battle. It then destabilizes the opponent after it finally touches it, to effectively and easily win the battle. It is advised to use this combo only when you are using a type of BeyLauncher, since it needs to possess very high RPM in battle in order to work effectively. Be warned, this combo does not fare very well when pitted against Spin Stealing customs, and is only decent against Balance customs.

Overall
This is a decent Beyblade to buy. Lyra has no use in today's MetaGame, Screw is outclassed as an Attack Wheel, and ED145 has only found use in some decent Spin Stealing customs. The reason to buy this Beyblade is MF, which has found a great many uses in today's MetaGame. Due to this Beyblade having only one top tier part, it is not a must-have, but is a welcome addition to any collection.

RE: Screw Lyra ED145MF Draft - UGottaCetus - Nov. 13, 2012

I like the article, but why do you say that Lyra has some use in the Overall section? Earlier in your article, it says Lyra has no known use. I also think you should change the sentence stating the use of this Bey to "This Beyblade should only be bought for collection purposes." All of the useful parts are in Spiral Capricorn.

RE: Screw Lyra ED145MF Draft - Rush - Nov. 14, 2012

Ah, sorry. I meant to say that it has no use. Heh, I'll update the OP. I actually think it should say that it is a welcome addition to any blader's collection, IMHO.

EDIT: OP updated.
