The shading is pretty bad at the moment but hopefully I'll be able to save it.
I'm a massive procrastinator and haven't touched this for ages but I really should finish it! What do you think?

The amount of tonal difference you're getting with just a biro is just incredible.
I especially like the beak and the eyes.

the only bird i have drawn are a toucan and a kingfisher with metal parts inside for a school assignment my teacher called a "Machanimal" XD

Yeah... pretty much that... what we had to do was pick, if i remember 3 small metal parts from certain things... like little metal pipes or something like that.. then pick an animal to draw. i picked a kingfisher out of 2 others [A German Sheppherd Puppy and a tiger cub] and then i had to draw the kingfisher - then draw and shade in the machine parts. and it worked out for me.. others completely failed. XD
