“Next flight, Takantoo, Japan.” A loud voice boomed from the speakers. I lowered my headset for a moment, trying to listen for my number. I’m going home. I slipped my headset on, and bobbed my head to the beat of the music.
Moments later I heard my number called. I pulled off my headphones, stood up, and adjusted my backpack. I shuffled my way to the plane, trying to avoid people. I tried but people still noticed me. People pointed at me and spoke my name with a disgusted tone. As if life wasn’t hard enough here in America. Tears slid their way down my cheek. I sprinted to my seat on the plane and took the window seat, so I wouldn’t have to look at the person who sat next to me.
I closed my eyes, trying to erase myself from the world. “Hey! Are you awake? Takumi?” My eyes fluttered open. Who would know my name?
“Yes? I am Sasaki Takumi.” The person who called my name was--Uh Oh.
“Takumi! I missed you so much!” A beautiful young girl cried my name. She had blue hair, put up in a ponytail. Her shirt had a panda face on it, and she was wearing short blue jeans. Her blue sandals kept kicking my shins. Her green eyes stood out from the rest of her.
“Ka--Kasumi. You're choking me!” I choked for air, as she squeezed me as tight as possible. Someone chuckled from behind me, as if they were teasing me.
When Kasumi finally released her grip and sat on my lap, I felt for my headphones so I could--Where are my headphones? I twisted my neck around to look at the person who was cracking up. I knew this kid. His distinctive silver eyes, that perfectly kept School Uniform, and his jet black mohawk. “Give me back my headphones, Hachiro!” I cried as I reached for my headphones. He patted my head and carefully adjusted my headphones on top of my head.
“Oh stop teasing the poor kid, Hachiro. We haven't seen him since yesterday, doesn't mean you can kill him for abandoning us, that is my job!” Said a smiling man, no older than me. He wore a gold jacket with worn jeans, and he always seemed to be smiling. His hair was as black as the sky outside, and was spiked up, as if it was reaching for the cookies on top of the fridge.
“Why do I have to be back here, Daisuke-Senpai? There is an empty seat next to Kasumi! Why can’t I just steal it!” Whined a handsome man, with skin as pale snow, just like mine. His hair was a dark navy, spiked in an anime sort of way.
“I claim this seat so back off, Masaaki!” A boy who was the same size as me walked up and tousled my hair. His yellow eyes stared right through me. His purple hair stood out from the rest of him. He wore a black suit, black pants, and black sneakers.
“R--Ren? Why is everyone here? W--Wait, how did you guys get here so fast?” I was almost on the verge of crying. These guys...my friends...everyone. They were the ones who accepted me...and I left them.
“Does it really matter how we got here? The important thing is, is that we are here right?” Ren lowered his voice and inched closer to me. “We found out why you are going back to Takantoo.”
He slid over a piece of paper, that had a picture of two people getting out of the car. You could see a purple sign in the background, with the words Bakemono Academy. Monster Academy...
I looked at the picture again and noticed a man with pale skin, red eyes, and white hair get out of the vehicle. His glasses reflected the sunset, but a second glance at the glasses and you notice it wasn’t a sunset--but a fire. My eyes became red and puffy, as Kasumi wrapped her arms around me. I never cried before. Why...Nori-San.
A flight attendant came over to Kasumi, smiled, and asked her to go to her seat. Kasumi nodded and hopped over to her seat. She looked at me and rolled her eyes. I laughed at everyone fighting over something stupid. Heh...so...this is friendship.

This one is just introducing some characters. I know, you will find more out about the main plot and about Takumi later.

The plane came to a halt, and the pilots lowered the staircase. I reached the bottom and took a moment to take in the scenery. The sun was setting, right over behind the mountains. Now it is only a short ride to Bakemono Academy.
“This picture is what will supposedly happen in the future, we must go there, enroll again, and watch over the academy, Takumi. They need us.”
“I will be right back I have to...pee.” I hurried along as I ran for the men’s bathroom. Got to think! Got to think! Why would Nori burn down the school me and him grew up in? I rushed into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. My blonde hair was swept to the right and was kept neat underneath my white beanie. My gray v-neck was slouched low, revealing a little of my chest. I checked my skinny jeans, making sure Kasumi didn’t drool on me while she was sleeping. My checkered shoes had gum on them. Damn it, Hachiro-Senpai
I turned on the sink, and stuffed my face underneath it, making the ends of my hair wet. I smiled wide, and checked my teeth. Damn, there are still bloodstains on them. I had to get thirsty on my trip to America. Glad I had a lawyer. I would of been dead. I turned around and head to one of the stalls. I locked the door behind me, so I could relieve my bloodthirst. I pulled up my sleeve, revealing a small tattoo of a human. My father put this pouch of human blood in me so I can tame my thirst. I pricked the area, trying my best not to flinch, and dabbed a paper towel on the blood. I stuffed the paper towel in my mouth and sucked on it. I unlocked the stall and exited the men’s restroom.
They were all waiting outside, teasing each other with their powers.
“Hey Takumi! We are going to race to the school, wanna join?” said Masaaki. I smiled,revealing the edges of the paper towel, and nodded. We all lined up together and Daisuke-Senpai counted down. When he reached 1 we all went in different directions. Ren was being confident and ran towards the woods, where you could just seem him transform into a werewolf. Daisuke-Senpai took out his staff and casted a flying spell on himself. Kasumi disappeared as she turned into mist, hoping that she will go the right direction. Masaaki grew wings out of his back and flew off. Me, I just used my ninja like skills to parkour. Hachiro walked.


When I arrived at the school, everyone was already there, including some of our old friends we made here.
“Hey Daisuke! How has it been?” Asked Ren. Daisuke looked at him and shrugged.
“Well, someone said you guys were returning, so I--” he quickly glanced at Kasumi, who grabbed my hand. He looked down and his teeth slowly sharpened. “I came as fast as possible. I camped out here for a couple of nights. I didn’t want to return home.” His smooth accent reached my ears softly. He adjusted his purple shirt, and slid his fingers threw his dark blue hair.
I smiled at him, and it slowly took me a while to notice my left hand was holding something. I looked at Kasumi holding my hand, and my face instantly grew a bright red and I removed her grip.
“Well come on then! We can’t be late for class!” He laughed and we all followed him closely.

We all pushed and shoved each other as we tried to get off the plane. Kasumi fell off the steps, as we all laughed at her.

Kasumi was splashing everyone with water, like she always does. She shows off the fact that she is a Water Thief. She can easily steal water from anyone or anything, she also has the power to manipulate water.
I could feel myself getting weaker, my eyes grew heavy, my legs were weak, I had a headache, but I could still hear giggling. I checked If the sun was out, although it usually doesnt make me weak. I looked below me and saw a water puddle below me.
“Ka--Kasumi...p--put it back.” I felt my heart slowing down, so I started to panick. My teeth sharpened, my thirst for blood increased, my hair slowly turned to a black. Snap. The water was put back in me. My strength regenerated fast,
