Are you sure? Developers leave much to be desired in local multiplayer these days. Even Pokemon.

RE: Final Fantasy - Ichida - Oct. 11, 2007

Well, I agree there should have been Lv100 battles for local Pokemon. That has alienated me from a lot of convention battles since not too many people have a lv100 team.

RE: Final Fantasy - Bey Brad - Oct. 11, 2007

myself included

RE: Final Fantasy - Ichida - Oct. 11, 2007

I can always help you with that. *shrug*

RE: Final Fantasy - Bey Brad - Oct. 11, 2007

it seems unnecessary tbh, they should release a damn patch (and I'm sure they could do this if they wanted to)

RE: Final Fantasy - Fleetscut - Oct. 11, 2007

patch for PBR? or patch for diamond and pearl? cause it'd be possible for DP but for PBR it could get complicated

RE: Final Fantasy - Bey Brad - Oct. 11, 2007

DP. Enable Lv.50 and Lv.100 all for local.

RE: Final Fantasy - SK - Oct. 11, 2007

I only really tried FFX-2

played like 12 hours, didn't really get much into the storyline (which sucked big time) and stopped playing it. oh yeah i realize it's a sequal to FFX, but I pretty much watched my cousin finished that game so i had a idea of the background story etc

Tales of Symphonia>FF

This is true, comparing it to what I've played of the FF series.

FFX-2 is NOT a good game to base your opinion of all of FF on. I'd say FFV, FFVII, and FFIX were the best ones.

RE: Final Fantasy - Roan - Oct. 12, 2007

I'm about to make millions of weaboos cry...

The Final Fantasy series gets entirely more merit than it deserves.

There hasn't been a good one since 7, and even 7 wasn't really as amazing as everyone thinks they remember it being.

RE: Final Fantasy - Ichida - Oct. 12, 2007

Have you even played FFIX all the way through? <.<

RE: Final Fantasy - Roan - Oct. 12, 2007

I missed FFIX, unfortunately.

But no matter how good of a game it is, it doesn't make up for the other 95% of the series that totally sucks carp. :\

RE: Final Fantasy - Ichida - Oct. 12, 2007

Don't even call yourself fit to judge something unless you've tried it a decent way through. I can confidently say FFVIII sucks because I played about 75% of it. You shall torrent an FFIX ISO and play it in Emurayden if you must, but don't dare badmouth Final Fantasy until you play IX. Also, generalization as such = prejudice. Just because one FF sucks, doesn't mean they all suck. Learn to TRY something before you dismiss it.

dude...it's a video game.

RE: Final Fantasy - Ichida - Oct. 12, 2007

Dude, they're spinning tops.

RE: Final Fantasy - Fleetscut - Oct. 12, 2007

anyone here heard of the suikoden series? i hear lots of people prefer it over FF. im looking into getting the games

RE: Final Fantasy - Ichida - Oct. 12, 2007

I played some of Suikoden IV. Good, but kinda stale. The naval battle system is something we don't see often, but I have to admit that Suikoden IV made me see why that is. XD. I don't know about the other Suikoden games though.

I agree with Artie. Calm the hell down. It's a video game, not a religion. Final Fantasy is not being "persecuted".

RE: Final Fantasy - Roan - Oct. 12, 2007

Seriously Ichida.

You sound like some sort of crazed religious crusader. lol

RE: Final Fantasy - Bey Brad - Oct. 12, 2007

FYI, I definitely don't think you should have to play anything for that long to decide if it sucks. I stopped FFXII after five hours, because damnit, if it can't interest me in five hours then it was poorly designed.

Fixed.

I haven't played a FF game in a while. XII was the most recent, I think, and I lost interest after an hour. The series is getting really overrated, IMO. Though I am looking forward to Fabula Nova Crystallis, if only for FFvsXIII (because the battle system is being done by KH team /drool).

Seriously?! Oh man, ToA is amazing. I enjoyed sooo much more than Symphonia.

Do you see my title? "Passionate Gamer." Now you understand why.

Tamer Brad Wrote:FYI, I definitely don't think you should have to play anything for that long to decide if it sucks. I stopped FFXII after five hours, because damnit, if it can't interest me in five hours then it was poorly designed.

I'm about twenty hours in and still don't like FFXII. The battle system is utterly, utterly terrible and laggy. The bar fills up, you pick a command, then if you decide to change your tactics, you have to wait for the bar to fill up again! Curing in critical moments becomes very tricky. And don't tell me to use the Gambits because the same thing happens. Someone gets hit, and right as the bar fills up, the command changes to Cure and it has to fill up again, meaning they're easy pickings if I'm facing either a rapidly attacking opponent, or more than one, which is almost always the case. I had hoped the story would be good enough this far in to keep me playing, but sadly, it has not.
