Being a Blader taught me one important lesson: fight for what's important to you. This is what happened to me when I joined the WBO, a group of secret agents and Bladers who fight to protect Bladers during the days after the "Nemesis Incident". My name is Aether, welcome to my life.

It was a cold, wintery day, the birds were hibernating due to current season, luckily it wasn't snowing. I was just strolling in the park watching other Bladers compete in battles with their Beys, then I saw some menacing-looking teenagers. They were bullying a young male Blader while they tried to steal his Bey.

"Oi, get away from his Bey!" I shouted to the group of teenagers.

"This is our turf, get lost!" replied the tallest teenager as they looked up at me.

"Why should I? How about I make you a deal, if I beat you leave this park and all the Bladers here alone, what do you say?" I explained not knowing if I could even win.

"I accept, as long as you give us your Bey if you lose, do you accept?" answered the tallest teenager

"You really think you can beat the great Bukara Izugane, you weakling?" mocked another one of the teenager.

"I accept!" every other blader cheered at my answer as I prepared my launcher.

This is how it all started, as every Bladers journey starts, well nearly every one. Anyway back to the battle.

I positioned myself on the north side of stadium as Bukara did the same with the south side.

"You can't beat me and Gorgon Medusa SF130WB!" mocked Bukara.

"We'll see about that." I said.

"3... 2... 1... GO SHOOT!!!" chanted the crowd that was gathering as me and Bukara launched our Beys into the metal stadium.

My Bey, known as Basalt Byxis 230WD, moved towards the centre of the stadium. Byxis was my lucky Bey, it had won me many battles with only a few defeats. Bukara's Bey sped around the stadium at high speed, but as it clashed into Byxis it flew out of stadium and clonked Bukara in the forehead.

"H... H... How did you?" questioned Bukara shocked at how powerful my Bey was.

"Just lucky, I guess." Everyone cheered at my victory as Bukara ran off.

That was just the start, as I walked away from the stadium one of the watchers from the crowd started talking to me, "You're skills are amazing, I would like to offer you something."

"Uh, thanks I guess." I looked down at the business card he gave me, then I looked up the guy who gave it to me, but he was gone.

The business card that he gave me was my invitation to the WBO Secret Service tryouts.

That was the day I was recognised by the WBO as a worthy candidate of a Secret Agent Blader...

I thought I might explain a bit about myself before I go on. I am a typical medium sized teenager who wears black trousers most of the time, a white shirt and a black leather jacket which holds my launcher and Bey in its pockets. Anyway I think I'm getting sidetracked.

I woke up from my deep sleep after a long night of thinking about the business card the guy gave me. It said to come to the tryouts at 12 o'clock today, which was... IN 20 MINUTES!!!

I quickly got dressed into my usual gear, grabbed my launcher as well as my Bey. I dashed as fast as I could, the tryouts were apparently not that far away due to address written on the card.

Finally I got there with only 2 minutes to spare. So that's when I walked in to the large dome-shaped building.

"Sir, please sign this form." I turned round realising that the woman at the table was asking me something.

"Of course." I replied to the woman as I signed the form.

Even though I didn't read the form properly I knew what it was about. I entered into the participant area where the boss of the WBO was giving a speech.

"Hello participants, you will be doing some battles between all of you to see if you're ready to work for us. The top 3 candidates will be chosen. Watch the TV above you to see when your match is. That is all." he pointed at the large plasma screen TV on the wall before he strolled out to his office in order to watch the matches from his window.

The TV showed the matches that were coming in up, there was a picture of the competitors as well as there name, I was amazed at how long it took the pictures to be uploaded from the camera that took pictures of all the competitors that entered earlier. My match was up first believe it or not, I was up against someone named Jake Toshiko with a Bey called Galaxy Susanow 105R2F.

I walked from the participant area to the stadium where thousands of WBO Bladers were watching.

"Right, Byxis you know what to do?" I readied my launcher as I stepped out the hallway towards the stadium at the same time as Jake.

I stepped up onto the steps as the full image of Jake Toshiko come into view. He was about the same height as me, with darkish-brown hair. He wore a black shirt with a green coat that went down to his waist. He wore dark blue jeans. Anyway I think I'm getting sidetracked.

We both prepared to launch, then everyone chanted, "3... 2... 1... GO SHOOT!!!"

SMASH!!! The two Beys collided into each other at high speed as they were launched. Jake's Bey, Galaxy Susanow 105R2F, sped around the stadium charging it's power for it's assault while my Bey, Basalt Byxis 230WD, moved itself into the centre.

"Just a little bit longer... NOW!!!" commanded Jake, "Galaxy Blade!"

Galaxy Susanow 105R2F smashed into my Basalt Byxis 230WD causing it to recoil to the other end of the stadium.

"Your quite good at surviving my attack like that." Jake commented at my skills.

"Same to you, but your going to need a lot more to stop me." I prepared my self for my special move. "SPECIAL MOVE, COMPASS OF TIME!!!"

There was a flash of light as time slowed down inside the stadium, mine and Jakes Bey was spinning as if time was stopping itself. There was silence in the audience. Then the was another flash of light as the motif of my Byxis appeared, then time returned to normal inside the stadium, but something was different.

Galaxy Susanow had lost control as a compass face appeared with the motif of my Byxis in the middle of it, but my Byxis was still spinning in the centre.

"Susanow, snap out of it buddy!" Jake was pleading for his Bey to win.

Suddenly the beast of Susanow appeared with a large sword which he raised in the air, then it smashed it down onto the compass made by my Basalt Byxis 230WD.

SMASH!!! The compass smashed as the beast of Susanow disappeared. Galaxy Susanow returned to it's original speed as it charged at my Byxis. Luckily I dodged all the attacks, then I set up my own assault. My Bey speeded towards the edge of the stadium luring Susanow towards me.

He fell for my trap, Susanow tried to smash me out the stadium, but as he got an inch close to me, I quickly moved out the way as Susanow flew out the stadium landing next to Jake.

The was a massive cheer in the audience. I won. I seriously won.

A few minutes later I was walking down the hall towards the seating area, there was another teenager walking to the next battle, "How could you beat such a rubbish Blader if your that weak?" he asked.

"I'm not weak, who are you to say that?" I asked after being insulted by him.

"Red Shinigami, what's it to you?" He replied.

"Nothing, just if you keep bullying other Bladers like me, you won't get anywhere." I commented.

Red was a Blader with a silver tongue. He wore a long grey jacket that went down to his knees. A black t-shirt and black jean.

"I'll see you in the final, if you ever get there!!!" Red laughed insultingly.

That's how I got my rival, Red Shinigami...

I was back in the participant area, watching the next battle, another competitor was talking to me.

"You were brilliant in that match." he complimented.

"Thanks, what's your name?" I asked.

"Er... Jakumi Himashawa, what's yours." Jakumi spoke in a shy tone.

Jakumi was a shy blader with a white coat, cowboy hat, trousers and shoes with white sunglasses.

I continued to watch the TV, Red Shinigami was winning without even trying that hard. It made me wonder, if me and him got to the final would I be able to beat him.

"Are you wondering about how you're going to beat Red?" asked Jakumi softly.

"How did you know?" I questioned

"Er... Well... You were closer to the participant area than you think when you two were... Er... Arguing." Jakumi replied shyly.

"What's your Bey then?" I questioned.

"Er... Lead Corona LT130RHF." explained Jakumi as he showed me a Bey with jewels on it as well as a crown on the Face Bolt.

Many rounds later, it was the semi finals where I would be facing Jakumi Himashawa. I exited the participant area knowing that I was good enough to get this far, the battles were tougher than I ever faced before especially the first round. Red was still in the tournament though, I knew it would probably be me and him in the final.

I stepped in front of the stadium as everyone cheered my name.

This was going to be a tough fight. We prepared our launchers as everyone chanted, "3... 2... 1... GO SHOOT!"

Both Beys dashed around the stadium trying to fight the match of their lives. Either way both of us would get a spot in the WBO, but I guess this match decides what roles we'd play in the organisation.

"Let's win this Byxis!" Byxis centred itself into middle preparing itself for it's special move as I spoke.

"Er... I wouldn't... Er... Use the same the tactics if I was... Er... You." Jakumi's words hit me, I'm just using the same tactics all the time.

If I'm going to win I'm going to need different tactics...

I would like to tell you now what was going on outside of tournament. I saw this ages after I joined the WBO on a CCTV tape.

Two Bladers dressed in average cloths were battling to earn Beypoints when a massive black and purple flame boomed from the centre of the stadium as a veil of mist covered the stadium revealing a dark shadow.

"At last, after years of being in that deadly realm I return! Now go Tempo SLICE THEM INTO PIECES!" spoke the shadow as both Beys were sliced apart.

Anyway back to the battle. I tried to devise a new tactic, but Jakumi's Corona wasn't helping as he kept smashing into me at top speed. Then a sudden thought came to mind, something my father taught me before he somehow disappeared. I drew an image in my mind, then I realised how to beat Corona.

"Get ready, SPECIAL MOVE, COMPASS CONTROL!!!" I boomed as the motif of Byxis appeared over the stadium.

Next thing Jakumi knew, his Corona was being controlled by Byxis' Special Move, but Jakumi wasn't going to give up.

"Let's stop this... Er... Madness, Special Move... Er... Dazzling Crown!" a large beam of dazzling light shot out of Corona, then it curved and started chasing my Byxis across the stadium.

Then there was a voice in my mind, it was my fathers voice, "Keep calm, concentrate on the movement of Corona, then command your Bey to dodge!"

So I did what he said, it was easy due to all the techniques he taught me when I was young. I could see it in my mind, Corona's movement. Could I some how use it to my advantage.

"Byxis, dodge!" I shouted.

Byxis dodge the laser of light, but it followed me like a homing missile. So I commanded Byxis to lead the laser towards Corona, which I did. The light whooshed towards me trying to stop me in my tracks.

Soon enough I had my plan set out.

"NOW!!!" Byxis swept to the side leaving the laser of light to go straight into Corona causing an explosion of smoke.

After the smoke finally cleared, Byxis was the only Bey remaining in the stadium whereas Corona had been smashed right beside Jakumi.

I had won, to the final I go...
