Verizon FiOS taking Funimation Channel off thier service - LeonTempest - Feb. 22, 2012

As some of you may know, Verizon has decided to drop the Funimation Channel effective as of March 12th. The decision was based on FiOS claim that there is low viewership, which is unsourced. No other news is avaliable at this time, other than the fact that Funimation stated that negotiations are being attempted with FiOS.

So, should FiOS keep Funimation? What do you all think?

I will post an ipetition link later for those who are opposed to FiOS decision, like myself.

I think a cable company could tell by the bandwith traffic for that channel as to whether or not ratings are low. Not that I'd think a high rated network would get delisted by providers.

The problem also lies in the fact that Verizon doesnt respond to the complaints of thier community. The one response that Verizon made so far refuses to recognize the complaints of thier customers.

I really question the validity of making a petition for this... online petitions are not really known for success, and especially in this case where it is such a massive company, I'm sure they've made up their minds.

Plus, not to be a Debbie Downer or anything, but you would not amass anywhere near a sufficient amount of "signatures" on this board.

Oh please, I am highly aware of the fact that nothing signifigant would happen here on this site in regards to this event, however this is technicaly a media related event, and being that beyblade is an anime, and it is likely that many users here watch other animes, some dubbed by funimation, i thought it would be wise to spread the word.

I personaly contacted Funimation via facebook, asking if any negotiations have made any progress. This was the response;

"Negotiations are on-going. Please continue to voice your thoughts to Verizon FiOS TV. Let them know you matter."

I guess one could interpret this as either a good or bad sign. Either way, I don't plan on losing this channel. If i do...well...im not sure...
