RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - DaSacredKnee - Feb. 10, 2015

In my months of collecting Hot Wheels, I've spotted a total of 4 regular treasure hunts in stores

- '64 Lincoln Continental 2013 TH
- Mazda RX-7 2013 TH
- Fast FeLion 2015 TH
- Chicane 2015 TH

I only have the Mazda.
The other 3 were passed because of reasons.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - DefStamina88 - Feb. 10, 2015

I have no idea what happened to my box of like 100 Hot Wheels (almost said happy wheels XD). Im sure we sold em or something. I have no idea.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Calculator Carp - Feb. 10, 2015

I have my 100 Hot Wheels in my garage, waiting for the next garage sale. im hoping the garage sale will A: get enough money for a ton of beyblades, or B: will help me get enough money for a round trip to toronto.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Kujikato - Feb. 10, 2015

Hotwheels <3

I still have my cars, most are mangled beyond belief though. Still love them.

That's probably because nothing that happens on reality TV is real.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Hato - Feb. 12, 2015

Well, it was my grandmother's birthday and I had to give here a gift (and I'm always at my grandparents'). I had a gift for her and have been waiting for 2 weeks to give it. I had dinner at 3; when I got home, watched TV for 20 minutes and left for swimming lessons. I come home and wait for my grandfather since he is getting the cake. Well, I get a call from my father asking if I gave the gift. I told him I just got back and I would give it now. He yells at me saying I have the memory of a goldfish and insults me many times... He didn't care I had swimming, he's mad at me that I didn't give it early when I COULDN'T.

KING Carp, to answer, if he comes again, call the police on him or just distance yourself away somewhere and keep watch and keep a melee weapon Smile

EDIT: Well, my father was talking to my mother about his "conversation" with me... Apparently, I am a complete failure and I have done so much wrong in life and that I am a terrible son. That's actually what he said... And apparently he didn't yelled at me, he "reminded me", but I think of I put my head phones at 10% they would break..; my eardrums and headphones.

I don't think any part of that sounded too outrageous ... or fake ... I think it's kind of demeaning to pass off someone's situation like this. If you have nothing good to say, then just ignore it.

--

Hato, that is a really sucky feeling. It feels really horrible to be called a failure/good for nothing by the very people that are supposed to support you ...

But don't feel like you have to do extra to "prove yourself". Don't lose yourself in the pursuit of validation. Yes, he may constantly remind you that you are not meeting his "expectations" but just do your best and filter out the rude comments. As you get older you'll realize that it is tough, but once you get through and make it on top - despite all the harsh commentary - there's nothing stopping you and you'll be so happy because you did your best.

I'm not going to go off saying he's a heimerdinger because it's pointless and he 'll never even see it. If he continues to abuse you verbally or mentally, just distance yourself from him and inform your mom that you don't feel comfortable being talk to like that for no reason. You kinda have to live with him (assuming you live with your parents and he doesn't get physical or anything.), so in this situation the best advice to give is that: Your never failure until you get the mindset that you are. Forget what he and anybody else like him think of you.

Now back to being an emotionless forum poster.

You said he had a lot of outrageous situations, like what ? Nothing he's posted here has been particularly outrageous or shocking, atleast to me.

Not everything posted here is someone lying and looking for attention. Don't be paranoid.

I get it okay?

Things like his near accident from a driver seemed shocking to me, as he could have been seriously hurt, they're just something I usually never see anywhere I have been. "Outrageous" was probably a bad choice of word. I wasn't being paranoid but was more confused, and I never brought up the point "Someone says something for attention" that often.

I should have reworded it, but now you know.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - DaSacredKnee - Feb. 12, 2015

I was reading through the first few posts on the Gaming Random Thoughts thread and couldn't help but notice how sarcastic, funny and (mildly?) offensive (depending on how you look at them), the posters were in the beginning.

When I got to the third page, it took a turn for me after reading through the link Bey Brad had shared.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - ~Stoney~ - Feb. 12, 2015

Hey guys, we´re currently having a quite interesting discussion in Germany:

Politicians are considering a prohibition of energy drinks for people younger than 18. What do you think about that? Reasonable or not?

Here´s my opinion:
I think it´s reasonable. The only valid reason to consume energy drinks is that you just HAVE to stay up, because you have too much work to do it all during daytime including weekends. Or if you go to college/university and just have to spend more time studying than you usually stay up. For an adult health up to 300mg coffeine is not health-damaging, but for kids, who are still growing, it can be really bad. Most teens aren´t getting enough sleep anyways, but not because of too much work but other (free time) activities. So there´s actually no reason for people, who still go to school, to drink that stuff. It may be impossible to archieve that there won´t be any people under 18 drinking it anymore, because there will be other possibilities for them to get it, if they really want (such as older friends/siblings), but there will also be a decent number of people (the law-abiding ones or simply the ones, who listen to their parents), who will keep their hands off it.

Of course, same goes for coffee.

Just my opinion though. How about you guys? I´m curious about your perspective.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Dual - Feb. 12, 2015

Everyone at my school (aged 14-18) is always whining about how tired they are and how they need their coffee. It's really sad, especially since I don't drink any coffee or anything and I get as much sleep as they do, and I'm just fine.

Point is, coffee can have detrimental effects on young people, so I think people should suck it up and stop wasting so much money.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Hato - Feb. 12, 2015

Wow. I completely agree with that. I never drink energy drinks or sodas for that reason that there is too much sugar and it isn't the greatest thing to drink. Well done, ~Stoney~

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Jinbee - Feb. 12, 2015

Water and juice is pretty much all I drink and energy drinks do NOT give energy, well it's what I've heard of Danger Dolan.

Hmmm... I think that's a little unreasonable, to be honest. I've been drinking energy drinks since I was 12 and have never experienced negative side-effects. They aren't really addictive or as unhealthy or dangerous and people seem to think they are. If the parent approves, I see no reason why a kid shouldn't be allowed to drink energy drinks; it's basically the same thing as coffee.

Both coffee and energy drinks have been proven to stint development in younger children especially. You may not notice it, but you can look it up and find the scientific explination.
