Alsoooooooooooo, damn, does anyone else feel like their summer just trickled away?! I mean, I always have the intention of actually doing things every time June rolls around but then boom all of a sudden August is here and I haven't accomplished anything Crying

I usually feel that way, but for some reason it seemed longer. Maybe it was becuase I didn't go on vacation this year.

But I think somewhere it says that as you get older, it seems like less time passes or it seems to go faster, IDK.

Yep, because the longer you live, the bigger the denominator on the bottom of the fraction becomes. For example, for a two year old - one year is literally half of their lifespan. But for us, a year is so much more insignificant compared to all the other years we've been alive !

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Neo - Aug. 09, 2014

I was in Hawaii back in July...late July. That's crazy.

Also, I'm in High School now!
It's pretty fun, far more flexible.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - OwnageDerp - Aug. 10, 2014

Enjoy the flexibility now, in 11th grade, it turns to hell. It's the time when you do tests, the Common Core Standards, Periodic Assesments, and the SATs. (And the CAHSEE if you're in California)

And in 12th grade, you get to worry about where you'll get accepted and then where to go. Shoot, I still have to redo my SATs and do my ACT. So much to do Sagittario_RollEyes

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Neo - Aug. 10, 2014

I could care less about tests and stuff. I'm going to a college because money. My grades are awful but they reflect nothing. It's the fact that common core is complete ****.

Yeah,I think the same thing Neo......But what's your worst subject?

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Neo - Aug. 10, 2014

Math.
I used to like it before CC.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Neo - Aug. 10, 2014

Common Core- System so all US states have the same curriculum.
Makes the dumb kids smart, smart kids dumb.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Shido-kun - Aug. 10, 2014

Glad we don't have that ours is K-12.I don't really know what that is but it brings me down.

So you're going to bribe your way in? XD

I've never even heard of the CC, is it only for public schools?

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Leone19 - Aug. 10, 2014

Common Core is plain stupid. I had to do my formal debate on it (In support of it, though, so I know both sides generally well). Here's an arrival for people who don't know what it is:

http://www.rethinkingschools.org/archive/28_02/28_02_karp.shtml

It's like making a fish, elephant, and monkey all climb a tree and teachers teaching to test, not teaching to teach.

I'm pretty sure it's both puclic and private.

That's weird, I definitely didn't experience that in my grammar school, and I'm pretty sure that's not going on in my high school...

"What is 20 + 12?"
"Well, think of it this way. Start with 10, then add 7 and 4. Then after that, add 5 twice and 4 once. Then, subtract 3 from what you get and add all the numbers together. 10 + 7 + 4 + 5 + 5 + 4 - 3 = 32"

Logic

Basically what it does is teach you the long way to do simple math problems like that and justifies that by breaking them up into confusing "steps".

Replace everything about Texas with Common Core.

Wombat Oh jeez, that's laughable. Why would anyone think that's a good idea?

Leone19 Haha, that's hilarious XD

I was going back on some old Dir en Gray MVs (I just felt like it) and just remembered this one video I saw about two years ago. It's totally creepy, horror and just plain weird, hah. Maybe Kai-V will know what one I'm talking about.
