For real, I thought people who actually believed in horoscopes/astrology were just a myth nowadays.

No ethics component in that course then? Your teacher is a terrible person.

Actually it was all my idea, so technically it means that I am a terrible person, and I accept that. But he thought the way I went about things was clever, although wrong.

I've seen it once or twice. My dad used to entertain me with something pretty similar when I was a toddler so it didn't really creep me out at all when I saw it.

It didn't like creep me out as a kid, but looking back now... it was pretty weird, haha.

Well you see, there's supposed to be this thing called the IRB...

I have no idea what this conversation is about...

But for anyone near Illinois, I'm going to Winter Wonderfest at Navy Pier!

The IRB, or the Institutional Review Board, is essentially an ethics committee. Before you conduct any experiment with humans, regardless of the level at which it is performed, you are supposed to submit a research plan to the IRB and obtained written consent from the members involved. Clearly, this did not occur here: if you're also providing it as a project to your teacher, even worse.

DrPepsidew, your teacher should've taught you about this in the beginning of the AP Psych curriculum year. Forget that you're a terrible person, which you kinda are for doing that, but what you're doing is also illegal and has been for the past 40 or so years.

So it was illegal because it wasn't approved?

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Bularieleone - Dec. 24, 2013

Christmas Eve guise!!!

I already know some of the things I'm getting, my mom's very bad at hiding stuff.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Tri - Dec. 24, 2013

For some extremely odd reason, we opened all the presents this morning. I finally got a 2DS! I can get Pokemon X and Beyblade Evolution!

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Dual - Dec. 24, 2013

Since we're Polish (100%), we celebrate both Chrisas Eve and Christmas Day. Double the presents, haha. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be getting too many beyblade-related items this year. Oh well.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Boredomface - Dec. 24, 2013

I loathe you. DOUBLE PRESENTS at christmas! You have no idea how lucky you are.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Kaneki - Dec. 24, 2013

No, presents for me today, haha. But I'm the same... I'm really getting nothing Beyblade.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - OwnageDerp - Dec. 25, 2013

I'm Catholic, and for whatever reason I get 3 Christmases. I'm going to my grandmas tonight, (hooray lives across the street), my parents Christmas, and my uncles, I already reeled in a $50...

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Dual - Dec. 25, 2013

Got a rugby ball, Western Forve uniform, two rugby conditioning books, two guitar instructional books, a $50 gift card to best buy, $25 in iTunes gift cards, and $70. Wow!

Cool! But wouldn't that go in the recent purchases thread?

EDIT: oh, ok Smile.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Kaneki - Dec. 25, 2013

Not really seen as it was a present I think...

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Dual - Dec. 25, 2013

Yah, I didn't purchase it, my family did.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - DefStamina88 - Dec. 25, 2013

Hm, that's my state's team, though I don't follow Rugby, and because of celebrating Christmas Eve, you're also getting gifts around the same time as me. For a moment, I had to check where you were from, haha.

Anyway, almost all of my presents haven't arrived yet (I was going to get money and then when limited started and I'd seen stuff I didn't have find use, I decided I wanted tops, but by that point it was too late for anything to get here in time - and really I'm more disappointed about the fact there's no mail til monday so it's a big delay on my actual presents), but mum did find me a lava lamp (about 15 years since I first wanted one, but hey, better late than never) and some macadamia shortbread cookies, so that's nice.
