I've been exclusively hosting on Photobucket for... at least five years, now. Huge album limits and so forth. They used to be a little nitpicky about what you uploaded, but that's a thing of the past as far as I can tell, now.

Exceptionally heavy nostalgia usually does nothing but depress me. Certain songs, some game music, and most importantly specific smells, will bring about huge waves of things I'd rather just keep crammed down my emotional gullet.

And then I end up vomitting feelings everywhere and it's gross.

I'm a photobucket user as well. The iphone ap is pretty handy and I like the 1-click copying of links to the files that they give. Makes it really easy to post the <img> tags on the WBO.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Kai-V - Feb. 07, 2012

I stopped using Photobucket over a year ago because this site was so popular I had no more bandwidth after two weeks for each of the three accounts I had ...

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Hazel - Feb. 07, 2012

I believe they have drastically increased the BW limit - I've not encountered it in a very, very, VERY long time... and every image I post here has been on Photobucket.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Coach - Feb. 07, 2012

another thing I'm having issues making GIF files, I currently use Photoscape for a lot of my basic editing. It has a GIF creator, but my avatar is supposed to be a 6 pic gif so obviously it's not working... any help there? what do you use for editing and creating?

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Hazel - Feb. 07, 2012

I use the free trial version of Easy Gif Animator that I downloaded about four years ago... the trial version only allows you to run the program a certain number of times, but I think I still have more than half of them left.

Same, I got really depressed last night listening to all the beyblade songs. I think it's a little stupid that I'm having a bit of a quarter-life crisis at the moment but it is what it is! I just miss the times when everything wasn't so complicated. That and I feel annoyed that I've spent most of my life in education, I can't wait to graduate from university, second year has been too difficult.

Had to lead a class seminar today and my group was absolutely pathetic. Before the class, I was voicing how nervous I was and everyone was like noo it'll be fine stop being so afraid. When the time comes to present suddenly they all do a 180 (except for my friend Mitch) and are TERRIFIED, stuttering, saying the wrong information, getting lost and looking through their papers and then hiding behind me and forcing me to lead the seminar on my own.

We got a good grade but I felt like it was just 2 of us carrying the entire group on our backs instead of them pulling their own weight. My course, combined honours business enterprise and marketing has TOO much group work. I hate having to rely on others when it comes to my grades.

Rant over.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - th!nk - Feb. 08, 2012

I hate group work too, but more because I am always terrified that someone will have to carry me. I'm reasonably smart but my study habits are so poor that I'm often behind until exams so I feel guilty, though I usually manage.

That said, getting 30% on a paper because the rest of my group couldn't write in something resembling proper English was quite irritating. I would have rewritten it myself but it occurred during what was the most traumatic week of my life so I was short of time and focus.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Ga' - Feb. 08, 2012

I don't like group work, but that's because I've had a lifetime (relative to age) of people copying off of me whether I like it or not. Even if they are in the same group or otherwise, I move so fast ahead of my group that people just see me as the easy way to get work done while I do all the actual work myself.

Rather annoying, but despite this I'm still relatively social.

@th!nk I know that feel bro. Like you, I've had that happen before. I manage in the end, but it is soooo irking.

This. I always, and I mean always, get stuck with deadbeat partners who won't do anything but talk to other people while I do all the work, and then copy off that. They say, "It's okay, we're a team." But it's not. That's why I try to do all my mathematics alone, and anything else I can. It's less of a hassle.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Wizard - Feb. 08, 2012

I get partners like that too. I usually write down wrong answers on purpose. One time a group I was in copied English answers... And we were in Govenment...... Anyways, I let my teacher know before I do things like that. It just proves it to my teacher that they didn't do anything but talk about Jersey Shore. Uncertain

Neither. Comedic exaggeration.

Being set up in groups for projects was a common thing at my school, and it was always a brutally unpleasant experience. Thankfully, my teachers only graded each individual on what they did in the project, so I never suffered the consequences of those I was grouped with.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Arupaeo - Feb. 08, 2012

That's life.

With rare exceptions, you always have dead weight in the teams you have to rely on to get your work done. The key here is to try and find the mitigation strategies that are most effective to dealing with non-producers.

Generally, the strategy I like best is to divide up the work more or less evenly amongst the team members, but make sure that I am the person who puts all the work together into the finished product. That gives me the ability to edit or rewrite the work from the weaker members. And make sure that the internal deadline for the team members is several days before the deadline for the project, so that you have time left to redo their work.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Sinner - Feb. 09, 2012

I'm making a Warm Fuzzies thread! Grin Its for the people who had a really bad day and they need some fuzzies on the inside. :3 I think it'll improve our community by having people bond and get to know one another. Plus, when you have a bad day, its nice to know that people are there to listen to you..

But the irritation from having to carry aforementioned deadbeats is pretty bad. Eh, I rarely work in groups, because most of my teachers know who gets copied off of the most, so those people never have groups, except for with other people who are copied off of often. (Who tend to copy from my paper every once in a while. Hypocrites.)

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - th!nk - Feb. 09, 2012

I just do everything at the last minute so no one can copy me, but I still do my share of the work.

I don't necessarily do this on purpose, but yeah.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Justaway - Feb. 09, 2012

Since grade 6, people(whom I then referred to as 'friends') copied off me and in grade 9 when I refused to show them anything once, they used abuses and deserted me... Now I refer to them as fair-weather friends. And since grade 9th, I never ever did group work again. I hated group work since then and that also made me leave facebook XD. But whatever the case, I never found groupwork useful. It has always been an equivalent of parasitic nature as far as I am concerned

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Synth - Feb. 09, 2012

Carp! quiz bee moments ago, and i got eliminated after the 3rd question! ARGHH!!!
but our class did win that science talent show XD that human equi-thing gave it away!!

Nobody have you tried reporting them? or was it a group work?

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Justaway - Feb. 09, 2012

In some cases it was a group work when they copied it off me and in some cases it wasn't. And reporting them was futile. I tried it once and eventually those knaves turned it to such an extent that our teacher felt that I was the one who was against the group...

Quizzes are always a lot of fun. Here it isnt class-wise though. Whatever the case I usually get 3rd place in quizzes and 5th place in Spelling bees. XD

We talked about that in World Studies yesterday.

I completed my state reading test today. In order to graduate high school, you must pass it. Luckily, I not only passed on the first try, but exceeded. That means, I got better than usual.
I was also the first person to finish it.

I've been playing footbag a lot more now. We do pelt style, meaning if you self serve, or use hands, you have to go against the wall and each person gets to throw the bag at you.
We also do it where once it's hit four times, you may grab it in mid-air, and throw it at whoever you want.
We're probably going to stop pelt style when we get a chainmail footbag. It would hurt too much...

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Rustled Jimmies - Feb. 10, 2012

I wanted to take a nap last night at 6:30pm. I wake up 12 hours later. My body is so sore, and I wanna cry, but I guess that's just the lack of sleep I've had for my morning classes catching up to me.

Today's goal is to find out if I have class today in the evening, my only class for the day. To do that, I have to wait til...what, 9, 10am to contact my classmate/teacher's assistant on what's going on today.

And congrats, Nano!

After doing some research, I found out not only one of my friends from high school had been following a Naruto-based faith all along (which totally exists, it's basically angst kids and sadly angst adults too). But due to his repressed anger he had convinced himself that he was a dragon of infinite Chakra.

The depths to which many people fall into their fandoms to escape reality are often amusing, terrifying, and generally embarassing.
