He means a guy named bb18libra modded a basalt which made it spin for 10 minutes.

RE: Ask a question, get an answer! #2 - LeonTempest - Mar. 24, 2012

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Sorry 'bout that. Thanks th!nk and Hyper27

10 minuets...insane...

RE: Ask a question, get an answer! #2 - Benkei - Mar. 24, 2012

So on the customisation forum I noticed the lack of Libra on the list, so are the four I bought in 09 largely useless these days?

RE: Ask a question, get an answer! #2 - CrystalPegasus - Mar. 24, 2012

I was going for defense because i dont diablo nemesis but my basalt is TT.

RE: Ask a question, get an answer! #2 - TheTuga - Mar. 24, 2012

Burn Fireblaze 135MS and Legend Cyber Pegasus 105F, what's better to beat Twisted Tempo (Basalt Horogium ) and Hades Kerbecs (Hell Kerbecs).

Also, best combination with those 2 ( Burn and Cyber ).

RE: Ask a question, get an answer! #2 - LeonTempest - Mar. 24, 2012

crystal Pegasus: Why do your posts never make any sesne? Your comments seem to come from nowhere at all, and if I am wrong, then quote the posts you are reffering to from now on. If English is not your 1st language, that is one thing, but if it is, then get better grammmer and make sense of what you write, or do not post.

Benkei: Libra as in Wheel system Libra? Libra was unbanned about 1 or 2 years ago, and remained top tier only for a short time. It was outclassed very quickly by the out-poor of new parts and combos. It still makes a decent stamina wheel now, but it is nothing compared to wheels like Duo and Phantom. And new attack type combos will basicly rip it apart in a beystadium

Next time, use Build Me a combo.

And not a single one of those uncustomized or customized could beat Hell Kerbecs or Basalt Horogium....Cyber Pegasus is terrible, and Burn is only decent at Stamina now. Hasbro meta-wise, Burn is top tier for Stamina. Everywhere else, you may be laughed at if you try to put it up against Duo or Phantom.

RE: Ask a question, get an answer! #2 - CrystalPegasus - Mar. 24, 2012

Okay, I shall do that for now on. Sorry for any trouble I have caused.

Whats the difference between Upper Attack and Upper Smash. Also is "Upper" only limited to attack? If so, why?

RE: Ask a question, get an answer! #2 - Hazel - Mar. 25, 2012

I very clearly explained the difference between Upper Attack and Upper Smash, here: http://worldbeyblade.org/Thread-MF-H-Wing-Bull-90-RS?pid=918759#pid918759

To summarize: Upper Attack requires more contact time and is essentially the opposing Beyblade "sliding" up the slope of the Upper Attack combo. This is impossible in MFB, as nowhere near enough contact time happens, and no such slopes exist in functionality.

Upper Smash is blunt force directed upward, such as on Screw and Beat, which simply directs momentum upward into those contact points.

RE: Ask a question, get an answer! #2 - Shabalabadoo - Mar. 25, 2012

I've never really understood why there's a term for "Upper Smash". Where's "Sideways Smash"? Sideways Smash sounds dumb but it's the exact same idea, but with a different vector direction.

I understand that it's to help people understand what they're seeing and help them differentiate from Upper Attack, but Smash Attack in an upward direction is just what it is, nothing requiring extra definitions, haha.

RE: Ask a question, get an answer! #2 - Hazel - Mar. 25, 2012

People needed the term, because otherwise we'd have people running around saying Upper Attack existed in MFB, which it doesn't, as it is, at least in all known cases, physically impossible. People evidently really did need to be shown that smash in an upward direction was a thing, and that it did resemble Upper Attack in effect, but that it was not Upper Attack.

RE: Ask a question, get an answer! #2 - JBladerMS - Mar. 25, 2012

A worn EDS (to the extent of being nearly flat) is illegal for tournament play, right? I just wanted to clear up some confusion because EDS can be quite aggressive when mint.

RE: Ask a question, get an answer! #2 - Dan - Mar. 25, 2012

If you need a different view on Upper Smash, SSJ, you should probably head over here.

The original 'Upper Smash' post haha.

Figured I'd post seeing as I pretty much coined the term, explained the concept, and so on haha:
It's something I had to establish to differentiate upper attack and what we see in MFB.

Sideways smash is just the more conventional smash, we only started truly noticing upward smash in MFB because it became one of the main forms of attack, with wheels like LLD around. BD145 countered it pretty heavily though. Upwards smash was there before, a number of upper attack beys used it to KO after lifting, but it was never the main attack style.

I could go on for a while about the emergence of horizontal smash in MFB and it's issues and so on, but my head isn't clear enough right now to make it all understandable so I'll just leave it at this for the time being at least.

Also, and with utmost respect:

Sorry, just sayin'.

JBladerMS: If it's behaving significantly different, which I'm assuming it would, it's no longer legal.

RE: Ask a question, get an answer! #2 - Hazel - Mar. 25, 2012

I was not really taking credit for the invention of the term nor its explanation, simply stating that I had recently explained it somewhere to someone in my own words... it was especially noteworthy there because that was a thread Sniper was actively posting in.

I guess I am not allowed to answer questions unless I am the original source for whatever information I have to provide, lest I have the peanut gallery jump on me for trying to help someone but daring to explain something myself, though, so I'll go back to being an unhelpful evil monster who warns people for having usernames.

I think Dan and I were just pointing out that, given the tone of our recent discussions, it was quite amusing to see you almost "taking credit" for explaining the difference, haha. No harm meant by that, I'm seriously not out for fame over giving something a name, but it was quite funny given our recent discourse, haha. Chill, it's actually nice to see committee members answering questions here, it makes users far less intimidated by you, as long as you do so politely Smile

Is that going to be the next thing you start warning people for, or did I miss an old tradition that people have been warned for and had posts deleted for many times in our rich history?
Honestly, as long as you PM me about it instead this time when I unknowingly break whatever vague ruling covers that, or at least announce it, even if it is just a clarification, I don't have any real issues on that front except the same "well that's rather silly" as I would had the image macro thing been handled more diplomatically. I've been using my CS in the Lion's Lair beystadium lately and I noticed some Sparkly things on the plastic part of it :
The performance has not been effected by this at all, so does this question how legal it is?

RE: Ask a question, get an answer! #2 - GaleonGT - Mar. 25, 2012

What is the best stadium for use with the old plastic beyblades? I'm looking for a stadium that's good for a balance between all of the types.

That is probably just stadium paint, from Hasbro's horrible BeyStadiums ... just take your nail and gently try to scratch it off.

RE: Ask a question, get an answer! #2 - Hyper27 - Mar. 25, 2012

Forgot to mention, I tried that but it didn't work o.o

If you can find a Tornado Attack, it is pretty much your best bet. They're a bit scarce, but occasionally they pop up for managable prices on eBay. As a last resort, a modern BB-10 Attack Type from MFB will do.

Try wiping it off with a wet paper towel. I have had to do this on a couple of occasions.

I also heard cases where the paint just could not be removed. Blame Hasbro.

Is it still legal if the paint can't be removed?

It should not really make much of a difference, so yes.
