Pich's Music Thread!!! - Pich - Feb. 17, 2009

My most recent song:

----------

Well, actually its the first I've even used a music making program, but whatever.
Anyway, I'm showing of this little tune I made, I put it on newgrounds =P. Here: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/213589

Tell me if it's any good or not.

EDIT in 2019: Crazy to see my first song still exists somewhere. I've been doing music this whole time, see the last post for how much it's changed over the course of 10 years.

It's pretty good, the bass drum should be turned down a bit for trance though.

RE: My first FL studio song... - Synesthesia - Feb. 17, 2009

It sounds really nice. Congrats. Smile

RE: My first FL studio song... - Khel - Feb. 17, 2009

Catchy tune, but for trance one needs to feel the bass beat a bit more. I was hardly getting any response from my subwoofer, or my studio monitors. So tune that to add more 'oomph' and you are good.

That's a pretty good for your first time using a music making program. It's sounds great Smile

When I listen to trance, the one thing that bugs me more than anything is heavy bass. Don't get me wrong, I love bass; listening to Eric Wilson's basslines is one of my favorite things ever....but when I'm trying to chill and zone out, bass is too distracting

RE: My first FL studio song... - Pich - Feb. 17, 2009

Yeah that^^^ and that I have no idea how to do it is why I don't have lotsa bass.
And thanks guys.

Sytrus Jazz Bass with Fruity Reeverb (Drum Room/Small Studio) makes a pretty good sound

RE: My first FL studio song... - Pich - Feb. 17, 2009

Ok, thanks. =)

I am no basshead either, but when you play anything like this on a speaker system with a subwoofer there needs to be some response. No need for it to drown own the other parts of the music.

BTW, I'll be posting up another song probably tomorrow. I found a great tune when I was messing with Portamento just now. I'll build on it =).

Pretty unhappy with this one, but whatever.

RE: My FL studio songs... - Evan - Feb. 20, 2009

Definantly needs work, try and keep the melody the same throughout (scale the octaves though). The intro doesn't fit at all, though it was the best part of the song

RE: My FL studio songs... - SquirtleRocks08 - Feb. 20, 2009

I'm trying to redo the whole thing, I found a very early file to work with. I agree, I loved the intro, but it didn't fit at all with the rest of the song. =/
EDIT:I might redo the first song and extend it instead/too, I like it much better =P
