Does Wind....Affect Stamina? - Suicune_Aquario - Apr. 21, 2011

Well, I was bored today, and my house had a blackout. (Dang.)
Since there was no electricity, I decided to time my bey's solo spin time.
I was shocked when I saw the results - All of them were over 3 minutes.
For the solo spinning test, I used Thermal Aquila WA130WD as the testing bey.

With no ceiling fan turned on:
a) 3:30
b) 4:13
c) 3:45

However, the electricity came back, and the fan started to spin. Oh well, it goes on:
a) 2:30
b) 2:39
c) 2:32

Thats terrible, the results deteriorated when the ceiling fan was turned on. I guess...wind does really affect stamina, does it?

RE: Does Wind....Affect Stamina? - Mr. N - Apr. 21, 2011

Why are you suprised when you're using Thermal? Plus, there's no fan in a competitive situation, and this thread is going to be closed.

RE: Does Wind....Affect Stamina? - Suicune_Aquario - Apr. 21, 2011

In a situation you're battling at a windy place this might be useful....
If you think that this is not useful, mods please close this.

I am glad you made this thread. My teammate Spin-Sonic and I have been thinking this for a while. He always tends to use tracks such as DF105, T125, and DF145 for stamina over anything else considering that he also feels that the air current drastically decreases spin time and those tracks can help some of the decrease to be negated. I agree that the air makes a difference. However, most people would not agree because they are used to testing in conditions that are constant such as rooms with no fans, outside play areas, etc.

Um, Thermal is better than Earth stamina wise and is more than likely the second best Stamina wheel so...

RE: Does Wind....Affect Stamina? - Ga' - Apr. 21, 2011

Well, first, I think this belongs in Beyblade Customizations. And this would mainly affect battles near a fan, so, maybe it's a bit biased against stamina types?

RE: Does Wind....Affect Stamina? - brazman - Apr. 21, 2011

no actualy he has a point cose im wondering how df105 and df145 effect stamina

RE: Does Wind....Affect Stamina? - Ga' - Apr. 21, 2011

The down force tracks are tier 2 for stamina. They are worse than their non-gimmicked counterparts because the wings don't have much of an effect, and the wings themselves make the track unbalanced. This has been tested already too.

RE: Does Wind....Affect Stamina? - Suicune_Aquario - Apr. 21, 2011

Ceiling fan=Air from above.

According to the beywiki, it says that the results are negligible. So, in my opinion, it makes no difference.

Battles outside could cause the same issue. The weather DEFINITELY makes a big difference. In the last NY tournament, we played outside. The day before the tournament, it rained a lot. because of the weather change, the humidity from the sudden change of weather made the stadiums moist no matter how many times they were dried off and rubber bottom had no grip inside of the stadiums, especially in the new black attack stadium which is made of an ENTIRELY different material with less grip.

RE: Does Wind....Affect Stamina? - Kai-V - Apr. 21, 2011

If there is wind, then it obviously affects the balance of the Beyblades ... However, even in a tournament, there are usually a lot of people around the stadiums, so I doubt that the effect is as big as when you put a fan directly on the stadium ... It also depends on your fan's power.

The best conditions for testing are obviously not with a fan ...

Really ?

Kai V- won't this be closed?!

fair point but wat if the beyblade itself acts like lets say a mini fan

RE: Does Wind....Affect Stamina? - Kai-V - Apr. 21, 2011

Then the other Beyblade does too ...

Absolutely. In fact, Deikailo's black TT stadium MELTED in her car when the heat was left on. Her clear version however remained just fine. No damages or anything. IKMV can also vouch for the difference in material.

Also, we do not allow a lot of people around the stadiums in the East Coast tournaments. Most of us launch and swing our arms so by not letting a lot of people stand around, it reduces the risk of anyone getting hurt or becoming a problem. With that said, the air can easily get into the play area.

RE: Does Wind....Affect Stamina? - Suicune_Aquario - Apr. 21, 2011

A mini fan?! Well, thats another way to describe beyblade, lol.

Yeah, that was said but that is severly outdated.

RE: Does Wind....Affect Stamina? - Shika blade - Apr. 21, 2011

If so, wouldn't it mean that clear wheels have a big effect on air destribution? Bad wording.

Then, perhaps we have to decide on which one is valid, since if it does have different material, than that may not be valid for testing. Could someone who owns both compare?

RE: Does Wind....Affect Stamina? - Janstarblast - Apr. 21, 2011

Well, I think that Thermal and Down Force spin track can make a bit of difference. Both are parts that have a lot of connection with aerodynamics......

you do realise that black colours tend to absorb heat right?

DOH! I forgotten I've learnt this in science.

And you do realize that I clearly posted that the stadiums are made of an entirely different material right? Regardless of the color, if the material is different, different results can and more than likely will show up.

LOL. Oh the irony. So I'm quite sure now that these are made of the same material now. And poor Black TT Attack ;_;

Why don't we just suspend the argument until someone can test and vouch for/deny this claim and get back to talking about the topic? Wind could also affect attack types if it's strong enough too, it could hinder or boost movement greatly depending on the direction.

Why, I didn't know that.... Tongue_out_wink Also, most of my tests show(bey used my friend's Earth Eagle 145WD, that only direct force of wind affects the performance of the bey. Normal wind in natural conditions will cause only a minute difference. Direct wind from a ceiling fan, especially while using thermal, does affect the results. I think that a tourney near the sea just might be too effective. You know, Sea Breeze...

RE: Does Wind....Affect Stamina? - Kai-V - Apr. 21, 2011

I will do some research on the black Attack Type BeyStadium, but can we close this topic soon because it is clear that wind affects battles ?
