The first half was alright, but after the goal was conceded and King went off the performance was considerably worse. It was a really shocking error, but even so, England should have been far more clinical. We should have won, for sure.

Heskey and Gerrard were my stand-out performers. Even as a huge Liverpool fan, I have to say that Carragher looked an absolute liability out there. Altidore and Findley tore him apart with their pace.

Wright-Phillips didn't do anything for me either; I would have prefered Walcott in the squad to him.

Agreed for the most part, I think I was slightly hyperbolic, however Walcott just really can't finish things off, Wright-Phillips is a great playmaker.

I remember seeing this on TV, and I literally thought they were just showing a still of Beckham's face. Funny, haha.

i never even expected norway to make it to the wc (which they didn't), while england fans actually hope to win the cup, yet they can't even beat united states. the midfield battle was gerrard&lampard vs two players from bottom of the league german clubs ffs. hahaha

RE: General Football (Soccer) Thread - Galaxxy - Jun. 13, 2010

Ghana 1-0 Serbia woot woot.

RE: General Football (Soccer) Thread - Benkei - Jun. 13, 2010

Grats to Ghana, stupid Kuzmanovic, he threw that game away for Serbia.

RE: General Football (Soccer) Thread - Daegor42 - Jun. 13, 2010

Wow, 4-0 for Germany. I expected more of a fight from Australia.

RE: General Football (Soccer) Thread - danielson1234 - Jun. 13, 2010

Australia had crappy defense. They kept letting in through balls. Podolski with a pretty nice goal!

RE: General Football (Soccer) Thread - Serotonin - Jun. 13, 2010

Cahill didn't deserve a Red Card at all, shocking decision.

Australia were unfortunately to play a really good Germany team today. They looked really good, but I seriously don't want to get caught up in pro-Germany hype, haha.

USA WINS 1-1!!!
How about Tim Howards lights out goalkeeping?

RE: General Football (Soccer) Thread - Dan - Jun. 14, 2010

I really noticed that the ref was leaning toward the aussie side at the first half.
Some of those calls on German's didn't seem right to me. During the intermission I think he got a talking to, lol.

RE: General Football (Soccer) Thread - SK - Jun. 14, 2010

RE: General Football (Soccer) Thread - Dan - Jun. 15, 2010

Anyway they planned like carp. Terrible 1-1 is a fail for defending champs.
Germany is looking pretty good, they will play Serbia and Ghana soon, LOL.

3,500.00 NOK = 545.495 USD, checked on xe and anyway Ivory coast better beat portugal today!

RE: General Football (Soccer) Thread - Dan - Jun. 15, 2010

Um, I have a feeling they won't.
Simply because I haven't heard about them being a prominent figure in football.
I might be wrong, but it is just my opinion. Tell me I'm wrong, I'd like to know more anyway.
Edit: They played well, put up a enjoyable game. I felt that the portuguese didn't try. They did horrible for my standards. But nevertheless, Ivory impressed me.

RE: General Football (Soccer) Thread - Benkei - Jun. 15, 2010

WTF is up with 0-0 for Brazil at half time. Korea are the lowest seed in the competition and Brazil the highest. A real disappointment as far as Brazil is concerned so far, great for Portugal and Ivory coast though. If people think that England, France or Italy played poorly, Brazil's performance so far is even inferior to them.

RE: General Football (Soccer) Thread - Serotonin - Jun. 15, 2010

North Korean performance is really good also!

RE: General Football (Soccer) Thread - Benkei - Jun. 15, 2010

Yeah that too but it's a moot point anyway now, great goal.

England and italy atletic conditions Are better than france and brazile ones.
France is orrible to see.
Italian players have no idea and fantasy
England is the best of this 4 team

RE: General Football (Soccer) Thread - Dan - Jun. 15, 2010

England seemed pretty garbage tying up with U.S.
It seemed a bit petty to me that Korea just played defensive most of the time,
They did do well at the end though.
