There are a lot of things I want to do with the WBO, and like most things in the world, they cost money. I'd love to be able to offer WBO supply kits and prizes to people organizing events, and I'd love to be able to do more giveaways ... but I can't do it out of my own pocket.
I've been lately thinking of placing advertisements on the site. It wouldn't be anything incredibly obtrusive; maybe a banner ad for a Beyblade store at the top of the page and some Google ads underneath the first post on each page.
If it was up to me, I'd love for all of the things I want to do to be doable via my own money and donations, but it isn't. I hate the idea of having ads on this site but if that's what it takes to do what we need to do here, then that's what will be done.

Oh dear. Still, as you said, I guess it's for the good of the WBO and pretty much inevitable if we are to expand.
Good luck with finding some adds that match the colour scheme.......=_=

Ah well that's better at least. I hate it when you get really random stupidly coloured ads that totally destroy the feel of the site. Or the ones that talk. They kill me inside. Oh God - please don't make them talk. X_X

I don't have much of a problem with it. It could help the site or it could hurt it. It all comes down to what you choose and how we would use them. I personally might benefit from it though.

I'm fine with seeing ads on the site, as long as it's tasteful (and obviously it will be). All of the proposed benefits outweigh any downsides.

Just make sure that you host ads from people you directly know and communicate.
The last thing you want is dating ads or anything that could be annoying.

They are necessary to help move the WBO forward in what it wishes to accomplish, so I suppose there is no chance of avoiding it.

i used my paypal for six years with only a debit card attached to it
and it wasn't one of this visa/mastercard debit/credit hybrid things
just a plain bank card
