Thanks a lot! The Organizer's Guide is really detailed and specific, I think it should answer a lot of questions I have.

RE: Questions about the WBO - Kry - Apr. 02, 2018

How do I register my blader's passport/connect it with my account here?

also does it matter if I got my blader passport in a different country?

Did you subscribe online? Or at a tournament? Send me a private message with the details (if it was online, send me your e-mail and transaction ID) and we'll get it added to your profile!

RE: Questions about the WBO - Frostic Fox - Apr. 24, 2018

I see people point out a rule for not making one-word posts. I also see that the section for Bey Marketplace says it has its own set of rules, and people point out a rule for posting a picture with your username with your goods.

But I can't seem to find where these sets of rules are. I see the community rules all over the place, but they don't seem to cover that.

Am I just not seeing something? Or are they missing, maybe?

Found it in the email I got from one of the committee. It covers the one word one.

Edit: The other one (Market) is kind of common sense. It's to prove that you actually own the beyblade you are selling, to basically prevent scams.

Another thing, I can see people age in parenthesis and then the word hidden. Is it supposed to show? I'm on mobile.

Ah, yes, I see it in there! Looks like it's perhaps an older version of the current Community Rules? So it's something that still applies, given the similar wording, but just isn't as spelled out in the newer rules, it looks like.

One mystery solved! Now for those Bey Marketplace rules....

What I'm getting at is that, in this case, the forum currently says:

And yet, I don't see them? That's confusing.

Rules should be easy to find and clearly stated. I was thinking maybe other people were finding them successfully while I'm not, but it sounds like that's not the case.

I believe we have an option to show our ages while hiding our birthday. Maybe that's what you're seeing?

RE: Questions about the WBO - Kei - Apr. 25, 2018

@[Frostic Fox], there should actually be a box of forum specific rules at the top of the forum, but it's something that was left out of the design for the sake of simplicity when we relaunched with this new theme a while ago. But we're working on an updated version of the theme that among many other things, will restore the forum-specific rules like the ones for the Beyblade Marketplace. We'll also be reviewing and making updates as is needed for each forum. The Beyblade Marketplace has changed a lot recently, and we are planning more changes for it, for instance.

That other Community Rules page above that ptf606 posted is indeed outdated as well, by the way. You'll find that it isn't linked to from anywhere on the site currently because it's an old version. The new version attempted to streamline the rules to the essentials ("Make posts people want to read!" and "contribute to the conversation" should imply to people that one-word posts probably aren't that valuable and should be avoided, for example) while also making our warning guidelines much more clear, defined, and public.

Sounds good!

I don't know myBB all that well, but I know other forum software lets you make forum-specific announcements (so like you've done with the Community Rules, but would only show up there). It might be worth looking into for simplicity, though I realize that may already have been considered.

Thanks for the response and clarifying things!

RE: Questions about the WBO - ~Mana~ - Apr. 25, 2018

It is possible within MyBB and something we considered. Just never got around to actually adding it as it was on the bottom of our list of stuff to do, and we had hoped to launch this theme rework last year, which would've solved the issue anyway. Obviously that didn't quite work out though, haha.

Feels like forever that we've been working on it now actually...shall be good to push it out next month...

RE: Questions about the WBO - Kei - Apr. 26, 2018

Forum specific rules are also usually relatively short in comparison to the Community Rules, and including them in a box at the top of the forum does ensure that more people will read them, so that's another reason for doing it that way instead of as a forum 'announcement' like we have for the Community Rules.

RE: Questions about the WBO - Frostic Fox - Apr. 26, 2018

Fair enough. If the new way of showing them will be out in a month, I suppose it's not the worst in the world to continue to go without them. If it were longer than that, it might be better to put them at least somewhere, but it doesn't look like that's the case.

Its disabled for the time being. Quoting @[Kei]'s message regarding the same..

It's still disabled for the foreseeable future until we are sure that it won't break anything with the ranking system, which is unfortunately still being worked on alongside many other aspects of the site in the form of a new, remade version of our theme.

RE: Questions about the WBO - Frostic Fox - May. 04, 2018

Do club-format events get placed visibly on the site here like regular tournaments? Or do they at least get a thread?

Yes, they do. But at the moment you cannot intentionally host a Club Format event; it's more of a fallback in case not enough people show up for a regular tournament. It was created for this purpose so there would almost never be an instance where people show up for an event and end up having no structured play method or something they could earn on the WBO.

That being said, we have been considering for a while about making some allowance for them to be hosted intentionally. But we have to be careful because we don't want exclusive groups meeting constantly. We want to be inclusive.

Yeah, I'm not asking for exclusive groups. I see the page for the organizer quiz says you need either 4 or 8 for your event and I don't think I've seen anyone make a club format thread, just instances of tournaments that became one. So, I was wondering how that works.

Because if I can personally only gather enough for a club format, I would definitely be open for more to come. And I'd like to make the event visible for others to find and come.

Yeah, so you only need 4 people to propose an event once you've become an Organizer, which means that it would be Club Format. But the intention has to be for it to become full tournament if enough people show up (8+), and both your venue and you need to be prepared for that possibility (which you would be if you passed the Organizers Quiz).

Ohh, sad to hear that.. But why so? Because of less Japanese speaking members on WBO?
