RE: Questions about the WBO - DRAGON KING - Dec. 26, 2014

That's actually a pretty good idea. Maybe post it in the suggestions thread though?

RE: Questions about the WBO - The Supreme One - Dec. 26, 2014

Ah yes, I do believe I added that feature and it can be applied to specific boards as well if one-word posts aren't a problem in certain places (like confirming attendance for a tournament).

Doesn't sound like it would be a problem here and would eliminate a lot of the "okay" and "thanks" posts that take up a good portion of the page.

RE: Questions about the WBO - Kai-V - Dec. 26, 2014

We can do it in terms of characters, but I do not think we can do it with words.

RE: Questions about the WBO - Shido-kun - Dec. 26, 2014

People can still do one word post in TSO's forum actually...

...Just put a space after one letter.

I don't think I've seen that happen often on AFW, neither here on the WBO. I'd say it's not really a problem. Both forums are looking sturdy, and even if it was a problem, like you've mentioned before, they could always just cheat the system by using spaces.

Nice idea, but I just think it might be pointless in the end.

While it can happen, I really do doubt anyone would do so. It should definitely still be added, though, even if some end up using spaces to post, which again, I doubt. It can stop others from making one-word posts, like confirming themselves on tournament threads, for say. This would be pretty useful; definitely not pointless overall.

RE: Questions about the WBO - DRAGON KING - Dec. 28, 2014

My question is: Where did the "Hah" begin, Kai-V?

RE: Questions about the WBO - Jinbee - Dec. 28, 2014

Why does she say "Hah" or "Haha"? Is that laughing or does it make it friendly? It works either way.

Not complaining but out of curiousity.

RE: Questions about the WBO - DRAGON KING - Dec. 28, 2014

The hah sometime makes it feel like that other person is inferior XD. (Ex: "Poison sux lawl" "Poison IS the best MW, hah.")

RE: Questions about the WBO - Jinbee - Dec. 28, 2014

Well if so, I seem to get quite a lot from Kai V.

RE: Questions about the WBO - Kai-V - Dec. 28, 2014

It is just like a "ha", just with an additional "h" at the end. There is no different meaning or pejorative aspect to it than with "ha", and I cannot exactly remember why I started using it as "hah" except that it started at least on Ty Kamara, so more than ten years ago.

It just feels like that in some contexts Tongue_out.

RE: Questions about the WBO - Kai-V - Dec. 28, 2014

I have no idea why you would take "hah" in a different context than with a "ha" ...

RE: Questions about the WBO - DRAGON KING - Dec. 28, 2014

It'd feel the same minus the last H, atleast to me.

RE: Questions about the WBO - Jinbee - Dec. 28, 2014

The extra "H" ahh! It must stand for the H of Hell!

Or could it mean He Misunderstood?

RE: Questions about the WBO - Kai-V - Dec. 28, 2014

You would say the extra h if you were following it with a second a; that is how I see it, and I just stop myself at the h instead of at the the first a. In other words, it is an aborted 'haha', and all the intention in the world was there to make it one but I just stop before.

"Ha" sounds more amicable. Especially followed by an exclamation mark. A "yes! I got it!" vibe.

"Hah" sounds more affirmative, borderline condescending if stood alone and followed by a period. An "I got you" vibe.

All of this is very subjective though, context is vital. It's pretty much a signature speech "pattern" for you at this point, though. Like a stamp of Kai-V authenticity.

Adding an extra "a" at the end or beginning of either makes them much lighter and fluffier, though. Which is interesting. It also turns them into what we're used to seeing (aha/haha/or even haa). As it is, hah seems awkward/unfinished.

EDIT: I meant subjective, not objective.

It feels more 'awkward' than either "ha" or "haha". It feels nervous and unsure. I'm not sure why...

I actually feel like its the other way around. "Ha," to me, has a more mocking tone to it while the added "H" makes the sentence it a bit more casual. Either way, I usually go with "haha" because it comes across as the most friendly option, as if I'm genuinely laughing at something someone had to say and not scoffing at them.

But...why am I posting this in Questions About the WBO?

RE: Questions about the WBO - DRAGON KING - Dec. 28, 2014

In the previous WBO celebrations, what did the most recent people choose for the Whatever you want prize?

RE: Questions about the WBO - Dual - Dec. 28, 2014

I don't believe that was a prize in previous years.

RE: Questions about the WBO - Mitsu - Dec. 28, 2014

Kai-V did mention this in the BeyDays 2014 announcement thread, though.

~ANYTHING YOU WANT~ !!

RE: Questions about the WBO - Dual - Dec. 28, 2014

Hm, I don't remember that in the previous years, but I guess I'm mistaken.

RE: Questions about the WBO - Tri - Dec. 28, 2014

I remember some of the winners getting to choose any booster they wanted, but not ANYTHING they wanted.

RE: Questions about the WBO - DRAGON KING - Dec. 28, 2014

They did in a couple previous celebrations . They said anything reasonable.
