That metal face thing happens to my Metal Stone Face, where the plastic piece is shifted up and rattles the Beyblade. I use like a piggy bank or something to hammer it down, and it does work. Never had a problem with MF-2 though, to be honest.

Eh, unless your screwdriver slips and smashes the plastic, you won't damage anything aside from small scratches, and in this case it was at a point where the thing was basically useless so I had nothing to lose, and now it's good as new, better than all but my least-used one (which has almost no movement). I tried gentler ways first, of course, but some things need the force of a hammer. I assume this is something held in place by friction, hence the force needed to put it back.
Obviously, most of beyblade's target audience want to have an adult do it, as hammers can really hurt if you miss and hit something (also parents generally hear hammering and come to check it out - don't scare them like that, kids), but one or two quick sharp taps is all it takes, especially if you use a good, uh, thing-instead-of-a-screwdriver-that-I'm-sure-has-a-technical-term-I-am-unaware-of, in which case the risk of damage would be minimal as long as you've got it resting on a solid flat surface. The thing you're hammering down is flat, so unless you're more unco than I am (and I am fantastically uncoordinated) you'll struggle to mess it up if you use the right, er, "hammerin' rod".
As for how common it could be: I've had it get this severe twice before - my two oldest MF-H's are both illegally glued together, and serve only as placeholders for me to remember combinations with or for playing around with when bored (I hate throwing things out if I can salvage them somehow).
It's also a gradual thing, I believe overtightening is the cause, might see if I can manually induce it just to test this out some more out of curiosity, but yeah, it might be hard to notice given the fact it is gradual, but I'm quite sure it is very common, and that people just don't really notice it because it never gets quite severe enough to be an issue on most tops (Metal System beys are much pickier, it shows up much easier with them, tracks sit unevenly, especially if their threading holes are even slightly cracked (though of course that is a problem in itself, haha)).
I would probably be willing, if able, to dissect one of the my glued ones (it recently came loose again, and then I lost it, so I'd have to find it and then see if I can get it apart), if that would help at all, though I doubt it would I figured I'd offer just in case.
EDIT: I don't know if metal stone faces are the same - regular metal faces are held together by glue, which obviously isn't the case with MF-2's, but I wouldn't be surprised if Metal Stone Face Custom(ize?)s used the same system and thus could be repaired the same way.
Also, if MSF's are built this way, a piggy bank would not work at all, you need to get the pole which holds the plastic down, which is a different piece of metal to the cap in MF-2's from what I can tell.
EDIT to EDIT: Oh I would probably be able to take a decently accurate guess at whether MSF's or MSF-2's use this system from a good photo of the appropriate area, if anyone is curious to know. I'm curious to see if this applies at all to the MSF-2 breakage issues I heard a lot about, so I'd be happy to take a look haha.

You don't need a hammer, just something thats bulky, sorta heavy, plastic-y (like moisturising cream) and is wide enough to not have it fling. MSF sorta works the same way as a MF-2, or has a similar design which affects both. Hammers seem a bit risky though, you could shatter the plastic if too hard, as opposed to a tub/whatever, it won't in most cases.

You don't hammer the plastic though, or at least if there's plastic exposed to the shock by the metal pole part, it must take quite the whack to shatter. There's a metal pole or something in the middle that plays a major part in holding the plastic down in MF-2's. That's why you need the screwdriver/more appropriate substitute. A heavy implement used for this purpose is no different in function to a hammer, and hammers generally do the whole "hitting things in" more efficiently, which is useful as this is not something that will work if you're too gentle (keep in mind the forces by which they came loose - screws put a lot of force on things, etc etc). Rubber Mallet would be good for the sake of whatever you're using to transmit the force to the pole, but really, still a hammer.

Anyways, all i did was tap the whatever onto the plastic screw part and it'll fall back into place. It's sorta hard to explain, but yeah haha i'll take photos of it tomorrow. I didn't know the method you used worked because mine slants onto the side when it becomes loose. Not sure if we're talkin bout two different things here, or something. Should go to sleep

We actually use MyBB, but a rather modified layout, so I really do not know what you are talking about when you say that you have seen this layout on many websites ... Brad, the site founder, could almost copyright it, hah.

Re: MF/MSF Custom discussion: All of my customizable Metal Faces are slightly lose like th!nk mentions, and in the past, I've used a broken Metal Face's core to push the nail/wedge placeholder-thing on custom MF's and MSF's further in to make them tighter.
If you have were to completely remove and then return the core-piece that holds a MF together to its original place, then how would it really be any different from the disassembling and reassembling of any other Beyblade part, such as Metal Ball Base, Jade, or F230?
In this case, the piece has simply disassembled itself by natural use, not broken. If all that's being done is a reassembling of the part, then there should be no illegalities as long as the method employed is not one that breaks rules already in place.
