RE: Questions about the WBO - Thunder Dome - Feb. 24, 2013 Yes Grey usernames are the people who are banned. RE: Questions about the WBO - Ga' - Feb. 27, 2013 I have a legitimate question. Is there a possible way to 'promote', of a sorts, the WBO in a google search page? I've noticed that whenever I search for a specific blade, usually the Wikia result comes before the WBO, and even several videos too (note: Bandid Genbull). This can cause major issues in terms of attracting new members, spreading the WBO's influence and providing correct information to those curious new bladers. If it were possible to make the WBO the first result in a normal Google search, this would increase traffic for the Beywiki and allow for the spread of competitively correct information rather than that found on Wikia, which is not necessarily correct or readily interpretable. This would be incredibly beneficial to pretty much anyone, and could even foster tournament areas due to the inevitably higher amount of members, etc. etc. tl;dr get Beywiki as the first result in a google search. RE: Questions about the WBO - Kai-V - Feb. 27, 2013 In the last few days I have tried additional measures, but really, the best way to rank on Google is to have a lot of other pages linking to you. If we could get the World Beyblade Organization linked on Beyblade.com, that would probably help a lot, hah. If we could get the World Beyblade Organization linked on Beyblade.com, that would probably help a lot, hah. The only way to get on the Beyblade site is to completely sell out to them. Though this would be hard to do considering that WBO is unofficial. But if we could collaborate then it would cool haha. If we could collab WBO and Beyblade then maybe we could have them re-release the plastic gen (even if it was a limited edition release) You should contact them! RE: Questions about the WBO - Tri - Feb. 27, 2013 This site have them release plastics? Haha... It'd be cool to have a link on the official site, definitely. RE: Questions about the WBO - [deleted] - Feb. 27, 2013 Well, maybe if we become a part of Beyblade then the site could be redone and we could have an overall much better site (heck, I may even LIKE it here outside of the selling thread) should WBO become an official site. If we could do that, then Hasbro would see the popularity of Plastic Gen blades and maybe then we could convince them for a re-release. Hazel Hey! Why didn't I think of that before? How could I be SO STUPID?! Golly Gee Hazel, thanks for telling me that! I have a lot of blades I need to buy, but will only be able to get here. I only like a few members and that's about it. When I'm done my shopping list I'll be out of here. It's moderators like you that are the reason I dislike most of this site. RE: Questions about the WBO - Tri - Feb. 27, 2013 You have no idea what you are talking about, that wouldn't happen. You realize how much money your talking about, haha. With this evergreen thing they are talking about, they wouldn't release again an already released system. I'm sure they know that plastics are still popular. Sorry about this off topicness. RE: Questions about the WBO - zeneo - Feb. 27, 2013 Well,I agree with the question posed by Tri- I personally used to get confused before when I used to search it- the Wikia(not our BeyWiki) tells inappropriate information RE: Questions about the WBO - th!nk - Feb. 27, 2013 Pretty much no hope of overtaking Wikia sites in pagerank, tbh, it's massively skewed in their favour for whatever reason. Despite most hobbies I'm interested in having a superior non-Wikia wiki, Wikia sites basically always show up before them for any given search. RE: Questions about the WBO - Luck - Feb. 27, 2013 I have a question; If you have two tournaments very near each other (date-wise) , and you go to both of them . For the second one , it's only safe to assume that your bey-points have not been updated from the first/previous tournament . So , if you battle someone , would the calculations (Bey-point wise) be the same as before you had the first tournament ? Or would the first tournament results be updated first , and then that changes the amount of bey points lost/won .. ? EG: Original beypoints: 1000 after first tournament against another blader with 1000 bey-points (win) : 1020 And then if the day after you had a tournament you went to the next one , would it change to something like 1010/30 if you won against someone with 1000 again ? This confused even me . So if you want me to say it again , please say XP . That is because apparently Wikia inherently has better mechanics to get ranked high on Google. Hey, what can surpass Google ranking is at least word-of-mouth. Thank you is burning firestrike legal - peaches222 - Feb. 27, 2013 is burning fire strike legal RE: is burning firestrike legal - Kai-V - Feb. 27, 2013 (Feb. 27, 2013 9:04 PM)peaches222 Wrote: is burning fire strike legal The stadium ? No, if you read the Rulebooks I linked you to, you would see that all Habsro stadiums are illegal unfortunately, since they are so unfair to Attack types. RE: Questions about the WBO - Ingulit - Feb. 27, 2013 What's wrong with the way the WBO displays months? In a lot of profiles of people whose birthday is either in June or July (no clue which), it's displayed as "Ju&" RE: Questions about the WBO - Kai-V - Feb. 27, 2013 (Feb. 27, 2013 9:22 PM)Ingulit Wrote: What's wrong with the way the WBO displays months? In a lot of profiles of people whose birthday is either in June or July (no clue which), it's displayed as "Ju&" It has been like that since our previous-previous upgrade, but I thought it would have been fixed by now, with all the upgrades we have gone through recently. Still, it is one of the most minor issues compared to all the technical failures that have happened lately hah. RE: Questions about the WBO - bbguy - Feb. 27, 2013 why does beywiki not have fang leone phantom orion RE: Questions about the WBO - sarabscientist - Feb. 27, 2013 (Feb. 27, 2013 11:31 PM)bbguy Wrote: why does beywiki not have fang leone phantom orion Their drafts are being revised and edited carefully. This process may seem lengthy, but its the reason why the Beywiki is always the most accurate reference. Come back and check soon! Not really, if you think about it ... it'd be detrimental because it would drive people away from tournaments due to the cost. Passports are just a really great economic accommodation. And as a bonus ... giveaways \(^.ï¼¾ï¼‰ï¼ RE: Questions about the WBO - ~Mana~ - Feb. 28, 2013 (Feb. 27, 2013 1:15 AM)Kai-V Wrote: In the last few days I have tried additional measures, but really, the best way to rank on Google is to have a lot of other pages linking to you. Join the queue, we're already pending RE: Questions about the WBO - Kai-V - Feb. 28, 2013 No offense, but since Hasbro seems so strict and paranoid about what they want to associate with, I doubt linking to a site that cannot really manage its content is what they would go for, hah. Spoiler (Click to View) RE: Questions about the WBO - ~Mana~ - Feb. 28, 2013 Just because you didn't mean offence doesn't mean it didn't offend us, "hah". And actually, they had positive attitudes surrounding it, mainly on the basis that our SEO is high and that we get around 100k page visits a day. I see your point about managing content, but we're working on it, as I've said countless times in the past; with exams and coursework, I myself can't find much time, and I believe it's the same for all of us, including yourselves. Besides, while we can't manage our content, we still cover the Anime in far more depth than the WBO does, and whereas you have articles created immediately as stubs and fully completed six months or so after release, we have our articles set up before release, and only put the aesthetic information in. With a lot of people using search engines to find anything about the Beyblade (Let's say, Samurai Pegasis back in October), we had a large influx of visitors looking at the article and increasing our SEO. Furthermore, we used to have even higher view counts on Sundays after episodes had aired, and our character and episode articles saw more views incoming. Both sites have their ups and downs in the end; we may not have the organisation of content just yet, but I think Beywiki lacks information that could have increased it's SEO had it taken advantage of it early on, rather than late. RE: Questions about the WBO - [deleted] - Feb. 28, 2013 You tell 'em ~Mana~! I couldn't have said it better myself. That comment made by Kai-V (and many others) is the REASON I'm leaving WBO and moving to BeyWiki (because that's where all the nice, kind and not to mention polite moderators and beybladers go) And as for B-Dapedia, can I help? I am a B-Dafan too and can't wait for the re-release in 9 months! (Feb. 28, 2013 1:10 AM)Kai-V Wrote: No offense, but since Hasbro seems so strict and paranoid about what they want to associate with, I doubt linking to a site that cannot really manage its content is what they would go for, hah. Comments like this are the reason people leave the WBO. Proper grammer is one thing, being a total carp is another. For future reference, this is why I only like the Buying and Selling thread here. RE: Questions about the WBO - Tri - Feb. 28, 2013 The BeyWiki is on the WBO, haha... |
