Did you know that Ash Ketchums last name is sort of liek the Pokemon catch phrase?

Crazy stuff

EDIT:
I wouldn't bother with the Platinum ROMs. They're illegal to use and DISTRIBUTE

But that doesn't matter, you just shouldn't use them. Quit being impatient and just wait for the game to be released overseas. It'll only be Spring, seriously.
are u afraid to use roms?i have been using roms for my ds for 2 years now and no one ever told me anything Smile i think its legal,if it isnt then why didnt they close the roms sites or stop selling the roms reader(r4 and other)???

Yeah.Nintendo and Friends.Have never tried,or even thought of defeating the R4.Never.Ever.

lol I think using roms are like spiting in their faces. Since I'm a big nintendo fan I'd never steal one of their games. *hint-hint* I wouldnt download a nintendo game!

not here to play moral patrol, grey :\

lol, I was joking about their illegality actually mattering in a case like this

Since tons of people break the law on the internet every day (e.g. music-sharing websites)

That was the joke

But seriously, I still don't like using ROMs. Or, rather, Platinum ROMs. If it's not properly or completely translated, why bother getting it?

'Course, that's just my opinion. Wink

RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - Bey Brad - Oct. 22, 2008

ROMs are illegal. Buying the game just makes it more "moral".

they are not going after R4 because of roms, they are going after it because of piracy! piracy and using roms are 2 different things. piracy is that you download the roms and dont own the game, pritty much you are stealing the game. like i said others buy ALL OF THEIR GAMES and use the R4 for convience, you can have like 20+ game on the one carterge compared to carying all of them around to get possibly lost.
to shikamaru it is the digital millenium copyright act (if im not mistaken)

RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - Bey Brad - Oct. 22, 2008

oh jesus don't kid yourselves

less than 1% of ROMs are used by people who actually own the game

stop coming up with these ridiculous arguments and just admit that people don't like paying for things

i am all for people to do whatever they want i also agree with you. 99% of R4 users dont buy their games. i also dont like shelling out 50 per games and some of them suck, i would rather use that money for a good blade or lot lol.

RE: Gaming Random Thoughts - Elmo - Oct. 22, 2008

I like paying for good games, I just don't like paying for crappy games.

Which is probably why I don't buy many games until I'm persuaded enough to get them. And I'm not persuaded until I see high ratings, and hear lots of JOY and HAPPINESS involving the game for a few straight weeks; then I'll buy it ;D. I've never gotten into this ROM/piracy thing...

EXCEPT Photosh... uhhhh some pricey graphics design program.

This is a myth.

You are correct, sir.

Quote from Nintendo:
Quote:Can I Download a Nintendo ROM from the Internet if I Already Own the Authentic Game?

There is a good deal of misinformation on the Internet regarding the backup/archival copy exception. It is not a "second copy" rule and is often mistakenly cited for the proposition that if you have one lawful copy of a copyrighted work, you are entitled to have a second copy of the copyrighted work even if that second copy is an infringing copy. The backup/archival copy exception is a very narrow limitation relating to a copy being made by the rightful owner of an authentic game to ensure he or she has one in the event of damage or destruction of the authentic. Therefore, whether you have an authentic game or not, or whether you have possession of a Nintendo ROM for a limited amount of time, i.e. 24 hours, it is illegal to download and play a Nintendo ROM from the Internet.

In other words, it all depends on your method of obtaining the ROM. If you rip it yourself from your own cartridge, then it's legal for personal play, but NOT distribution. Most people get their ROMs and ISOs from host sites, thereby nullifying their legalities.

exactly you CAN HAVE ROMS for backup puropses but its illegal to download the roms. if you back it up your self it is fine. it is very easy to do with disk game ,I.E. wii. ps2, so if the orginal stops working and you have made a backup and use it then that is legal. i know people who use their backups so the original doesnt get scratched and the game can have a longer life as well as re sell value.

that's because saudi arabia doesn't have the same copyright laws as north america and europe, not because your goverment is stupid lol

also if you get caught playing copied 360 games you can get banned from xbox live for life

yeah thats true, why do you think most pirate sites are in other countries? because they have weaker copyright laws. that is true about the 360. that happens on the 360 b/c when you have a back up of the game, when you burn it to the disk it doesnt put the data in the EXACT order that the original is and when they see that on XBL then they know its a copy and not the original. there are ways to fix this but thats alot of work IMO :-/

if you steal video games -- which is evidently seriously condemned in islam -- you don't get to complain about a game using qu'ran lyrics
