For an early genesis game (1988) it is pretty good and at the time, pretty much pushed the system to it's limits until the 90's happened.

Yep.
i'm part of the army that says MVC2 is better though. MVC3 has a superior soundtrack doesn't get to tideous to fast except for Abyss' theme since it has 3 phases and sometimes an addition of instruments makes any track superior.

I just started playing Runescape again, of all things...
I lost all my old login info ages ago (it's been 7 years since I last played lmao) so I have had to start from the beginning. It's been hilarious playing through all the newbie quests with big scary monsters that have terrible stats (so as to not obliterate the low-levels trying to fight them). "Legendary demon-slaying sword", indeed... not even as strong as a run-of-the-mill iron sword lol
EDIT: I found the info for one of my old accounts, when I logged in I got the message "Last login: 2261 days ago" XD
