Shooter Modification - Rögnvaldur - Aug. 27, 2008 Somewhere in the Metal Fight System forum someone mentioned to modify a hms launcher so it could shoot a mfb blade. So I thought that i should try this out but instead of the prong from the mfb launcher(I dont have one) i used the prong from one of the first launchers. The reason for doing this was to try out if you could switch those parts of the launchers. When doing this you have to unscrew the screw in the middle of the prong on both the old and the hms launchers. Next you need to take out the hms launcher prong and put it away. Nest take out the two plastic things that you´ll see inside. Then take the thing that is inside the prong from the old launcher and turn it around in the prong. Then file off the edges on the prong so it will fit inside the hms launcher(just do a little at a time and check so you wont overdo it). Next thing you do is to put the prong into the launcher and attach the screw again. TAA DAA!!! Now you have your own hms launcher that launches old school beyblades! PS: When ripping you have to start slow just for a really small amount of time and then you can go to full speed. RE: METAL FIGHT BEYBLADE: It's here! - FFX - Aug. 27, 2008 Haha that is great, the question is, how well does it work? Does the speed stay the same, is it tight? I can't believe none of us thought of that earlier. But great find! RE: METAL FIGHT BEYBLADE: It's here! - Bluezee - Aug. 27, 2008 is this legal to use?..if so, it may be the code to seeking higher RPM using advanced launchers with old ones RE: METAL FIGHT BEYBLADE: It's here! - Sasch - Aug. 27, 2008 It must be illegal. Just for messing around, since the Dual shooter isn't part of the plastic series, and modification isn't part of beyblade. RE: METAL FIGHT BEYBLADE: It's here! - Kei - Aug. 27, 2008 It is illegal, you're not allowed to modify a shooter like that. Nevertheless, it is a cool modification! Like flashfox said though, how well does it work? RE: METAL FIGHT BEYBLADE: It's here! - Bluezee - Aug. 27, 2008 okay, i tested this and it doesnt work..the plastic gen prongs are to large(the top part of them)....it doesnt work at all RE: METAL FIGHT BEYBLADE: It's here! - Rögnvaldur - Aug. 27, 2008 Quote:Haha that is great, the question is, how well does it work? Does the speed stay the same, is it tight? Well surprizingly it works very well! The only thing that is bad about it is that you cant rip it at full speed. You have to start medium for a very short time and then go to full. RE: METAL FIGHT BEYBLADE: It's here! - FFX - Aug. 27, 2008 To be clear, you are using HMS shooter, with Plastic prongs, on plastics beys with plastic spin gears, with the correct spin direction? And when you start ripping, you can't rip fast, but the speed has to progress as you rip? That's weird. Are plastic prongs really tightly affixed to the HMS shooter, or are they a bit loose? Bluezee: How you shooting..what are you shooting them with? RE: METAL FIGHT BEYBLADE: It's here! - Rögnvaldur - Aug. 27, 2008 Quote:okay, i tested this and it doesnt work..the plastic gen prongs are to large(the top part of them)....it doesnt work at al Well I think I know what is wrong with your modifycation. First of all you need to trim the prongs on the circle side to make it fit the hms launcher( I will not be responsable for any major damage of your parts). Second you need to make the plastic stuff inside the prong be the right way(youll have to figure that out yourself). Well if this doesnt work for you then i dont know what has gone wrong, but it works for me... Quote:Are plastic prongs really tightly affixed to the HMS shooter, or are they a bit loose? Well they are a little loose but not that much. RE: METAL FIGHT BEYBLADE: It's here! - Bluezee - Aug. 27, 2008 im tryin to shoot regular but the prongs wont move at all..it needs to be modified to allow it to move RE: METAL FIGHT BEYBLADE: It's here! - ChozenBlader - Aug. 27, 2008 do you think lubrication would help? RE: METAL FIGHT BEYBLADE: It's here! - Rögnvaldur - Aug. 27, 2008 you need to trim the sides of the prongs so it will fit!!! RE: METAL FIGHT BEYBLADE: It's here! - Bluezee - Aug. 27, 2008 oh so its modified..i figured you had to do something extra,,in wonder if you have to do this for MFB too RE: METAL FIGHT BEYBLADE: It's here! - ChozenBlader - Aug. 27, 2008 Hmmm, it's just that I'm sure people may not want to risk damaging their equipment, so I was just trying to see if there were any alternatives. RE: METAL FIGHT BEYBLADE: It's here! - Kei - Aug. 27, 2008 I'm going to move this to its own thread. We're getting kind of off topic. RE: Shooter Modification - FFX - Aug. 27, 2008 What exactly did you have to do? Did you have to file a bit off of the sides, or did you actually have to cut into the circular thing? RE: Shooter Modification - Rögnvaldur - Aug. 27, 2008 Yes i filed off the edges so it would fit(I wouldnt have done this if the launcher wasnt broken already) PS: Im a criminal!!! NEAT!!! I did something illegal!!! LOL RE: Shooter Modification - Grey - Aug. 27, 2008 Actually, roggi, Brad mentioned taking apart a MFB shooter to allow it to perform as well as an HMS shooter, not the other way around. I seriously doubt anyone would want their HMS shooter to shoot at a lower RPM, like the MFB shooter. Anway, it's a cool mod! If it has the same power as an HMS shooter, it would be really great for shooting plastics. Why, though, can you only pull the winder at medium power until the end of the launch? RE: Shooter Modification - Blue - Aug. 28, 2008 Yo I will definately do this to an old launcher. Awsim idea roggi. RE: Shooter Modification - Rögnvaldur - Aug. 28, 2008 Quote:Yo I will definately do this to an old launcher. Awsim idea roggi. Thanks... Quote:Why, though, can you only pull the winder at medium power until the end of the launch? No you just have to pull the winder at medium power just in the beginning for a very short time, than you can rip as hard as you like. The reason for that is that if you begin pulling it hard there will be some clicking noise and the shot will be a failure. RE: Shooter Modification - ChozenBlader - Aug. 28, 2008 This sometimes happens to my plastic gen shooter. My pulling of the ripcord has to get progressively harder during the launch. It works out fine when I do this. RE: Shooter Modification - Blue - Aug. 29, 2008 dudes I pulled it off its DOPE. Also I think I went a step futher because I have no resistance, I rip hard NP. [Image: th_Launcher086.jpg] [Image: th_Launcher089.jpg] [Image: th_Launcher100.jpg] [Image: th_Launcher101.jpg] the center is flush where the screw will fasten. I should add another pic on launcher etc. DOPE RE: Shooter Modification - Bey Brad - Aug. 29, 2008 Dude that rules. I want video! RE: Shooter Modification - Evan - Aug. 29, 2008 I love you Blue RE: Shooter Modification - Kei - Aug. 29, 2008 (Aug. 29, 2008 2:05 AM)Bey Brad Wrote: Dude that rules. I want video!
