WiiWare - Kei - Oct. 18, 2007 Are any of you guys looking forward to WiiWare? I know I sure am, and the game Pop which was recently announced for WiiWare looks pretty cool. RE: WiiWare - Roan - Oct. 18, 2007 lol I would be looking forward to it if the Wii had more than 512 MB to store stuff on. :\ RE: WiiWare - Kei - Oct. 18, 2007 Roan Wrote:lol D: Oh well, live with it. It doesn't look like we'll be getting any more than that anytime soon. And honestly, do you really need 512MB worth of Virtual Console things at one time? Not really. RE: WiiWare - Bey Brad - Oct. 19, 2007 More storage HAS to be coming. USB HDD. If not, get an SD card. Jeez. RE: WiiWare - Roan - Oct. 19, 2007 Actually, I might. Out of my 20 GB HDD on my 360 I'm using about 11 GBs. I own 15 XBLA games, these totaling over 1 GB in storage. Between VC games and WW games, 512 MBs is not going to be enough storage. Hell, I know some people that have already run out of room just from retro VC games. :\ I'm not sure if these new WW games can be saved to SD cards. If so then disregard what I just said. But even so, SD cards only go to what? 8 GBs currently? I'm not sure anyone could ever fill that much space with game downloads, but then, who knows? RE: WiiWare - Kei - Oct. 19, 2007 Hopefully Nintendo will release some sort of storage expansion, it would help immensely and I don't see it being that hard to implement. SD Card compatibility with WW games would be good though. RE: WiiWare - Fleetscut - Oct. 19, 2007 i think what theyre going to do is just make an update to the firmware so that you can just plug an external into the USB ports at the back RE: WiiWare - Roan - Oct. 19, 2007 Fleetscut Wrote:i think what theyre going to do is just make an update to the firmware so that you can just plug an external into the USB ports at the back I doubt it. Allowing the use of external HDDs would eventually lead to VC titles being distributed on the internet. Seeing as how Nintendo went with the 512 MB Flash memory in the Wii to avoid that problem in the first place, I doubt very much they'll allow this. RE: WiiWare - Crimson - Oct. 19, 2007 Roan Wrote:I doubt it. Allowing the use of external HDDs would eventually lead to VC titles being distributed on the internet. That wouldn't work though. Since a VC title will only work on the system it was downloaded to. If you try putting a game on an SD Card, then putting that SD card into someone elses Wii (Who hasn't downloaded that game), the game won't transfer. The only time a problem would arise is if someone figured out how to hack the system to allow games to be played that the player hasn't downloaded from the shop channel. Given the work that notorious hackers have done in the PSP scene, I don't see that being a huge obstacle for them to overcome on the Wii. lol RE: WiiWare - Bey Brad - Oct. 20, 2007 I'm basically not worried. For Nintendo to keep making money, you need to be able to store the games, and Nintendo is one of the greediest companies around. I don't really care what they do so long as they come up with some way to expand the memory. RE: WiiWare - Kei - May. 16, 2008 So, it's out now. Haven't payed much attention to it, but I really want to purchase LostWinds, it sounds like it's really good from what I've heard. Just need to get some Wii points. Has anybody downloaded any of the games yet? RE: WiiWare - Ichida - May. 16, 2008 Am already into Day 108 of FFCC My Life as a King. A bit repetitive but fun. RE: WiiWare - sam's temp - May. 16, 2008 Roan Wrote:Actually, I might.I'm pretty sure there is only 14.something GBs of useable space on a 20GB 360 HDD. RE: WiiWare - Kei - May. 18, 2008 Bought three of the WiiWare launch games: LostWinds: Haven't played it a lot so far, but the wind mechanic is really interesting. It's really fun manipulating the different things in the environment, and Toku (main character) at the same time. If you were thinking of buying a WiiWare game, you should definitely consider this. Pop: ADDICTING. The gameplay is so simple, yet has a lot of depth for what it is, which makes it addicting. I've spent a lot of time on this one so far, improving my high score for the most part. V.I.P. Casino: Blackjack: I have no clue why I bought this. Definitely not worth 700 Wii points. I mean, its fine for what it is supposed to do, and that is simulate Blackjack, but thats it. It's that simple. Nothing more, nothing less. Should have been priced 300 points imo. Also it is becoming painfully apparent that I need more storage on my Wii. Down to about 200 blocks I think. A external hard drive NEEDS to be released now that WiiWare is out. RE: WiiWare - Roan - May. 18, 2008 Kei Wrote:Also it is becoming painfully apparent that I need more storage on my Wii. Told you so. :-P RE: WiiWare - Bey Brad - May. 18, 2008 Kei Wrote:V.I.P. Casino: Blackjack: I have no clue why I bought this. Definitely not worth 700 Wii points. RE: WiiWare - To - Jun. 03, 2008 Bwhaaha, I have less that 100 blocks left on my Wii. Damn you Lost Winds, FF CC: My Life As A King, Defend Your Castle, Dr. Mario Online, and my VC games! Luckily the only future Wii-Ware games I want (thus far) are the Lost Winds sequels. |
