She used MF-H Hell Capricorne 85 MF against MF-H Basalt Horogium 90 CS, and got 3 - 0. Oh the horror... Smile I'm so proud of her. She's my niece Smile

RE: Beyblade Videos - Hero - Jul. 04, 2011

Whoa. Definitely a smart combo. No wonder she won. Really surprised that she won against both those men at first.

I saw those pics, you look a nice guy actually. Haha. Grin

The point was that people believe it cannot KO anything at all. As you know, attackers using tips like WF and XF have trouble with stamina types. IIRC your 'destabilizing attacker' didn't do so hot against most stamina types, which were top-tier back then which are completely trashed now-a-days. (comparatively speaking.) I'm guessing now it would do even worse. What I'm saying is that predominant spin-stealing (or in this case spin-stealing attack) fails against stamina types. To have a combination of that sub-category which can do so means something.
funny joke, though.

I was just trying to say that using a Hell custom against Meteo L Drago CH120XF as evidence that it can KO wasn't the best idea. Hell has a lot of recoil, as you know.

(Jul. 03, 2011  2:42 AM)Bluezee Wrote: Its about time someone said this! The combo wasn't even that great at all and very situational at best and it suffered very badly and that's why it never made it to being top tier. I don't think its even fair to say any combos derived from this because of how subpar ldrago 100wf was or whatever track it was on. It just kept being pointed out and noted constantly for no reason which is why it is even known today. Force something on people long enough and they tend to remember it unwillingly.

"Its about time someone said this!"? I've admitted several times since 230 was released that MF L Drago 100WF was no longer nearly as effective as it once was. Everyone knows it isn't as good as it used to be. Dan isn't revealing anything new here.

MF L Drago 100WF was far from being "subpar" when it was competitively viable. It was a very safe, reliable choice against almost anything. So, it's basically the exact opposite of "situational". Stamina types gave it trouble, but it was still possible to get a 50% (give or take) win percentage against what Stamina combos were popular at the time. It's hard for you to understand that now, though, I understand, since you didn't use it back then like I did. I won Beys of Glory–a tournament with almost sixty participants–with it, and won countless other matches with it as well. So no, it wasn't "noted constantly for no reason". It has since been eclipsed, but back then, it worked.

And yes, it is fair to say some combos (like Meteo L Drago CH120XF) derived from it (and MF L Drago 100WF derived from Flame 90SF, a concept that Brad had been toying with long before, with it's primary aim being to destabilize and attack at the same time), because prior to its popularization, the idea of a "destabilizing attacker" wasn't even niche, it was basically unknown. L Drago had been neglected up until that point, Lightning L Drago was the newest left-spin Wheel, and was only being used in pure Attack customizations. And additionally, the concept of "equalization" had not really been brought to the forefront until discussion/testing of MF L Drago 100WF began.

LOL okay on some level it doesn't make sense, that I can clearly see. I won't bother arguing as there isn't much point for either of us, so what do you suggest I video it against to 'prove' its ability to KO?

Basalt Aquario 230CS or some variant would be a better choice, I think. I'm assuming that you're not trying to prove it can KO MF-H Basalt Aquario BD145CS or something lol.

RE: Beyblade Videos - Dan - Jul. 04, 2011

LOL. Yeah I can do that.

Rock Giraffe R145WB vs. Screw Capricorne 90MF

RE: Beyblade Videos - Raigeko13 - Jul. 05, 2011

Lol, Rock Giraffe doesn't stand a chance against Screw Capri. Wish I had a Screw Capri... Is it worth getting? (like Screw and MF)

RE: Beyblade Videos - th!nk - Jul. 05, 2011

Belongs in purchase consultation, but only get it if you've got the rest of the staples. MF is pretty cool, but it's often "just not good enough" to outspin CS's and stuff, though it is pretty good at catching the tornado ridge instead of being KO'd by recoil. That said, WF is a better choice for a lot of things, but yeah.

Screw is pretty heavily outclassed by now, but against older beys, like MF-H Earth Bull GB145RS/CS, Screw Pisces/Horogium 90RF gets some awesome KO's, as it has great upwards smash. Still, not viable competitively.

90 is pretty cool, somewhat useful where 85 scrapes too much.
