First Tournament - AllGlitch - Apr. 03, 2025 Hey y'all, I'm going to be attending my first ever tournament this weekend. I'm pretty well versed in the rules and know I have to pre-register, but what are some other things I should expect? Like how long do they go for, should I bring extra beys? Thanks again! I don't personally do this but well actually I did but not in this better way and beware of your wrist I hurt mine launching way to hard last week in a tournament making me lose finals because i wasn't able to launch properly OH also bring food you will need energy before a battle I usually eat during the middle of a tournament to give me that energy boost right before a battle or finals while i don't bring any food it usually gets ordered again BUUUUT this is what me and my parents do not everyone does this i know this is just yap and no actual usefull information is being said right now but but but 1. Dont hurt yourself during a swing 2. Have a full filing meal before or during a tournament or both 3. If you are losing with a specific bey change it to another one or stay with it if you believe its you and not they bey This is what I do atleast and I've only been to finals once out of my 3 tournament soon to be 4 so I'm not really a "pro" I'm just decent so other people prob have better ideas and stuff so again this is what I do ![]() RE: First Tournament - AllGlitch - Apr. 03, 2025 Some good tips, any idea what the average ages are I don't think I'd feel too great going against a bunch of 10 year Olds. Not that you can't have skill at that age but yeah lol RE: First Tournament - Alt_from_IanY - Apr. 03, 2025 (Apr. 03, 2025 3:14 PM)AllGlitch Wrote: Some good tips, any idea what the average ages areUmm well I've seen 7 year olds. Like I saw a 7 year old in my last tournament who fought against my stepmom (she won) but I've seen like a 11 year old get 4th place In finals then rage I'm 14 so the age range would be like mmm 6-38 maybe even older and or younger but you wont be seeing any 5 year olds or 100 year olds but its not like mostly everyone is a kid i usually see only 2-5 kids out of the 32 or 50 or what ever number of people are in the tournament like last last week I didn't battle against any kids and most kids are with their parents also remember to take stuff lightly and make some friends. Oh and which tournament are you going to? RE: First Tournament - AllGlitch - Apr. 03, 2025 I like a diverse group so that's pretty cool, know to take it light lol, play against my younger nephew quite often. I'll be going to SuperStar Gaming in MD! RE: First Tournament - AllGlitch - Apr. 03, 2025 Beware of hand soap? Like on the bey? The duration depends on a lot of things, like the amount of people participating, the amount of judges available at a given time, stadiums, the match type, the bracket type, etc. I'd say 4 hours or so, but again it depends. As for beys, bring whatever parts you plan to use, if at all. Relying on one deck or combo isn't the best strategy, so you should allow yourself to mix things up if things aren't going smoothly. You should also remember the buchholz system. If you're playing Swiss or round robin, your placement on the leaderboard will depend on your wins and losses. However, if any other players share your w/l, buchholz determines if you place higher or lower than your tied opponent(s). The higher the buchholz, the better. You should also bring food and a charger, since you'll(for the most part) have to be present at the venue until you know if you're eliminated or not. RE: First Tournament - AllGlitch - Apr. 03, 2025 Good estimate I know buchholz thankfully lol I didn't think we were allowed to change beys, that allowable between matches? Good Games! Our match could have gone either way. You'll get your run back some time soon. I've been to a few tournaments over the last year or so and here's what I found useful for a tournament: 1) Prepare to spend a little under/over a full work day for a tournament. That means you should prepare to dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather, as well as things you'll need to stay in good condition: Food, water, etc. 2) Find a community nearby to join and practice with. Solo testing will have vastly different results from playing against another player. It's a good idea to come to practice events with the your 3 beys you plan on playing, as well as 2-3 sub beys to swap/replace your mainline. Ideally, have all your parts with you so you can test some other combinations out during this time. 3) When tournament day comes, try to stick with your 3 main blades and your 2-3 alternates. I've found that constantly swapping parts during a tournament lead to more losses and any wins were close/very lucky knockouts. Games go very quick-- but try to adjust to their launch, predict and counter their order. 4) Treat everyone the same. I've lost to more < 10 year olds than I have adults. 5) Have fun. Don't stress. Beyblade is all about fun and your results are not a reflection of yourself. I see a lot of kids and adults get so focused on winning they lose the fun that initially got them into the game. |
