[Report] Legends of X - SimplyEmu - Feb. 24, 2025
Legends of X
This tournament was a 5 round Swiss tournament with an exciting single elimination 16 player finals. We had 33 bladers register, but only 23 compete at the event. We had a few people show up late to the event as we were finishing the first Swiss round. We had to unfortunately tell them they couldn't participate, but that they were welcome to hang out and do free play and watch the tournament. There were quite a few new players that have not been to any of the events hosted by my cohost Rymac. Lots of different combinations today. Less people were running Cobalt Dragoon compared to the last event and More Wizard Rod and Silver Wolf combos were being used.
The Winner was SonicMovie3 who went 4-1 in the group stages, and 4-0 to win the single elimination finals

Trends
This was my first event as main host after co-hosting with Rymac 2 times. We had quite a few new people that found out through word of mouth, and via just checking the WBO site. Things went very smooth time wise. We had more volunteer judges compared to the previous event allowing one of us hosts to be a dedicated scoreboard updater and calling all the matches up to each stadium. Most of the feedback from people who attended Rymac's previous two events just mentioned liking how the rounds were going faster and there was less downtime.
Legends Comics and Games was a great venue to host. It was indoors and they had lots of seats and event space for people to do free play, sit and watch, and have 5 stadiums without being cramped.
