Beyblade X Dyeing launcher part help - carueJuiced - Feb. 21, 2025

Hello all,

I saw a Japanese twitter user with a launcher that they dyed pink (I can't find the post anymore :( but it was a string launcher and grip dyed pastel pink) and it looked really cool, hence I began my mission to dye a launcher yellow.

I picked up some equipment as my dye kit (a cheap ikea pot, some cheap towels, some dyes) and got to work. I also dismantled a white winder launcher and grip so I could dye the plastic parts (just the launcher shell, none of the internal parts).

I looked up some methods and tried a hot dye bath and also a cold dye bath. The cold bath didn't do very much but the hot dye bath yielded some good colour change.

The problem I'm having is that while the grip dyed with minimal warping (the grip attachments still fix) the launcher shell warped slightly such that, when I reassembled it, the gears don't move smoothly at all.

Does anyone have any experience dying the launcher parts with minimal warping?

Thanks!

painting would minimize damage.
