Are custom launchers legal? - Dragoon_Blade - Oct. 02, 2024

I do not like string launchers, since I'm afraid I'll break them by pulling to hard. Also, from what I've seen online, the one that came with Cobalt Dragoon breaks easily. So I swapped some parts around and did some cutting, and now I have a left spin rip cord launcher.

Though I doubt it, would this be legal/allowed if I took it to a tournament? Technically, it is all official parts, just customized. In the original anime, Tyson customized his rip cord by putting two together. So it's even in the spirit of the show (at least the original).

Thanks

The same way that releases like 2-70 wouldn’t be legal for tournament play, this launcher would not be legal under the same guidelines that it wasn’t officially released by Takara Tomy.

I’m certain when a L Ripcord does release it may have a difference in design compared to the R Ripcord, further cementing its illicitly.

Hope this helps 👍

No. Your doubts were correct - it is not tournament legal.

You can use unmodified, official Launchers from any official manufacturer, Hasbro included. You cannot use any Launcher that is customized or modified, including what you've described.

Thanks guys. One last question if I may. Would Hasbro Beyblades be legal, or do they all have to be TT? Or is this at the discretion of whoever hold the tournament?

Both Hasbro and Takara Tomy parts are legal typically 🫡. Unofficial limitations of what parts are legal may be used for some events but it’s usually both allowed with the exception of Burst’s “Hasbro Only” format.
