RE: Tyranno Roar/Roar Tyranno Testing Thread - Cindercast - Sep. 30, 2024

Thanks for making this thread! TR has been a staple part of my deck for the past month (with consistent top placements!)

I'll toss in some of my own testings as well :)

Tyranno Roar 1-60 Cyclone vs Wizard Rod 3-60 Ball
Left
Wizard Rod: 5 OS, 1 KO (60%)
Tyranno Roar: 4 KO (40%)

Right
Wizard Rod: 5 OS, 1 X (60%)
Tyranno Roar: 4 KO (40%)

Honestly not my favorite setup. Seems to do okay but Cyclone isn't aggressive enough for Tyranno Roar to pack a heavy enough punch on at a more consistent rate.

Tyranno Roar 1-60 Low Flat vs Wizard Rod 3-60 Ball
Left
Wizard Rod: 2 OS, 1 X (30%)
Tyranno Roar: 6 KO, 1 Burst (70%)

Right
Wizard Rod: 1 OS, 2 KO (42.8%)
Tyranno Roar: 3 KO, 1 X  (57.2%)

Tyranno decided it had enough and cracked my Wizard Rod blade. That's always fun. This setup definitely has more push than Cyclone which allows Tyranno to slam itself into opponents with enough power to actually execute over/xtreme finishes.

Aftermath View

Anywho, this is a fun little side testing that was just for fun. Personally I can say that the results did shock me quite a bit given that my own personal event results with Tyranno Roar have been rather excellent. It has me thinking quite a bit what the real correlation between testing and events could be. Or I'm just overthinking that haha. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Launch technique I used for Tyranno Roar aimed at utilizing the inner ridge to get as much coverage around the stadium as possible. Of course it didn't work 100% of the time.. Rod did not appreciate that here and there.

Overall I believe the blade is pretty good. It's placement in players decks will ultimately be up to how the player decides to approach the game. There seems to be potential to be a hard hitting hammer or any other utility role it may position itself in ways that PhoenixWing may not have been able to. I'm sure the community will find more setups for this unique blade as time goes on!  ^_^

Other Notes: My Tyranno Roar weighs in at 36.35g

Thanks for these tests both of you! A little lower than I expected but still solid potential I think, very excited for it to land here in Aus Smile

Roar Tyranno is a rather interesting blade. Being a couple grams lighter than Phoenix Wing, you’d think there’d be little to no reason to use it over Phoenix Wing. And you’d be correct! However, despite that… it’s still a pretty cool choice 😉

Wizard Rod 3-60 Ball VS Roar Tyranno 1-60 Low Flat
Wizard Rod: 50% (4 OS, 1 KO)
Roar Tyranno: 50% (3 KO, 1 Burst, 1 Xtreme)

Wizard Rod 5-60 Hexa VS Roar Tyranno 1-60 Low Flat
Wizard Rod: 70% (6 OS, 1 KO)
Roar Tyranno: 30% (1 Xtreme, 1 KO, 1 OS)

Wizard Rod 3-60 Ball VS Roar Tyranno 1-60 Rush
Wizard Rod: 40% (4 OS)
Roar Tyranno: 60% (3 KO, 3 OS)

Wizard Rod 3-60 Ball VS Roar Tyranno 3-60 Point
Wizard Rod: 50% (4 OS, 1 KO)
Roar Tyranno: 50% (2 Xtreme, 3 OS)

For a Hasbro reskin? Not bad! I personally wouldn’t use it over other attackers, but for triple dinosaur meme deck purposes, it does the job. Also, it’s worth noting that my Roar Tyranno is on the lighter end (we’re talking 35.8 grams). Oh well!

Perhaps I'll get around to posting testings as well. My TyrannoRoar is hovering around 36.0 grams.

Why no Wizard rod 3-70 B matchups

If you wish to see the results you're free to do some testing yourself and add to the conversation. Testing has been done against WR3-60B, results between 3-60 and 3-70 are unlikely to be much different. But again, if you wish to confirm this, load up some launchers and get to spinnin

I've been playing around with a few different setups. From what I've seen so far, it's less aggressive than Phoenix wing but has more defensive properties. It's much smoother and a bit lighter. I've tried a few different attacks set ups and I find that it struggles to bite into other beys enough to get consistent OKs.

So far my most consistent combo is 5-70 hexa. It takes hits well. The stamina is decent. Ironically enough it works well but I'm not having fun with it. It feels like the most conservative option.

I've fooled around with 1-60 Gear Point. Its a fun combo but doesn't perform consistently. I'm thinking about giving high tapered a try too. I really want roar to feel strong.
