Uh...hello, I guess... - SRGIBlades - Sep. 16, 2024

I'll be real. I'm not a social butterfly, and I never was. Maybe that'll change going forward. Anyway...

Name's SRGI(pronounced "sir-gee"), an acronym for "Some Random Guy on the Internet". I'm 27 years old, and I've been blading on and off for around 4 of those years.

I was 5 years old when Beyblade launched internationally in 2002(2 years old when BSB launched in '99). I watched the anime with my cousin, played the PS1 game, and even played with plastic gen beys. The first one I had(which funnily enough was a birthday gift from that same cousin)was Dragoon Storm, the same blade used by the main protagonist, Tyson. Back then, I knew absolutely nothing about Beyblade let alone what was happening in the anime. I was 5, and was more fascinated with the colorful tops smashing into each other.

Fast forward around 20 years later, and that same cousin would give me my first Burst bey(which was just wrapping up around this time making way for X.), Xcalius X2, along with a grip and string launcher. It was around then when I started looking deeper into the toy line and appreciated the TCG like aspect of strategy. He got me hooked into a childhood toy that I was once vaguely interested in, and now have turned into a low-key enthusiast. In late July of this year, he would repeat history a third time when he gave me my first X bey, Sword Dran. It was by then I was set in my mind: I wanted to Beyblade again. I was already deep enough, and it would be a great opportunity for my cousin and I to travel the world and participate in tournaments, just like the Bladebreakers in the OG series.

Funny how art imitates life.
...or was it the other way around?

I dunno. Tongue_out
