Organizing - What's The Process? - #BladerZ - Aug. 27, 2024 There's not much going on in central Florida, and the tournaments that do show up fill up fast. That combined with the fact that most tournaments happen on Sunday (I have church) leads me to one good answer- host my own tournaments. So to all you organizers, what's the process? How hard is it, what's the post processing, how much does it cost, etc. Thanks for the help! RE: Organizing - What's The Process? - KIO - Aug. 27, 2024 Initial step is probably to read the Organizer's Guide, Judge's Guide, and the relevant format rulebook. That's the game knowledge component you'll need to know. In terms of logistics, you'll need to know how to set up the Challonge, find a venue, and create the spreadsheet. Many Organizers find 'free venues' - that is, a free library room rental, outdoor park, or a game store. Sometimes a local game store may charge an entry fee for you to host. It terms of cost - besides time, the equipment you'll need is probably boxes/containers to hold the stadium in. Many people make these out of cardboard. In some areas, players might bring their own stadiums to lessen the burden on the Organizer to provide stadiums. There's no Judge certification - it's up to the Organizer to ensure the people they designated as 'Judges' are aware of the rules. |
