Note: Ciel Kaminari before he disguised himself as Kamen Z. That's what it sounds like.
So, in the episode description, when it says that the Blader "receives a harsh baptism from the Pros," it means that they faced a difficult and a humbling experience when first competing against Pro Bladers. This kind of "baptism" symbolizes their entry into the higher levels of competition, often characterized by intense challenges or defeats that push them to improve. Baptism still sounds awkward though.
