Sorry, it's late and I'm tired.
wow

RE: Random Thoughts - Synesthesia - Jun. 22, 2008

I'm surprised anyone on this board likes Between the Buried and Me. They are one of the few mainstream (keyword, mainstream) bands that I know of that incorporate Technical Death Metal into Jazz, well. They remind me of Phish, except with hardcore and death metal.

Colors is their best album as a whole in my opinion, but the best songs I think they wrote were "Selkies: The Endless Obsession", and "Ad a dglgmut".

RE: Random Thoughts - Guitar_Legend - Jun. 23, 2008

^i'm mainly impressed with the lead guitar stuff, thats what drew me in.
but after getting a feel for some of their songs i must say they do an incredible job of mixing things like jazz into the songs.

i don't understand why you call them mainstream though ?

oh and i got silver...yayy

RE: Random Thoughts - Synesthesia - Jun. 23, 2008

What drew me in was the impressive lead guitar work in combination with all the influences, and the fact they are technical as carp.

I call them mainsteam because they are more popular than alot of the other bands I listen to. About the most popular metal bands I listen to are Metallica and Megadeth. They released some of the best thrash metal ever in their early days.

HORSE the band

the end

RE: Random Thoughts - Bey Brad - Jun. 24, 2008

hahaha HORSE the band is hilarious/amazing

RE: Random Thoughts - Synesthesia - Jun. 24, 2008

"Horse the Band" are alright. Genghis Tron are far better imo, if you're into that type of metal. I can only tolerate so much of the ever growing hardcore infused tech metal with video game sounds.

Psyopus crush most of the bands in the Hardcore Tech Metal Genre, in terms of pure talent.

RE: Random Thoughts - djspida5 - Jun. 24, 2008

they're amazing but i think my favortie band at the moment is between Oceano and Underneath the gun

I'm into some really heavy stuff haha

I suggest checking out Necrophagist, Cryptopsy (The only album I like that they did was "None So Vile"), Spawn of Possession, Psycroptic, and Decrepit Birth. If you're into brutal/technical stuff anyway.

Those are currently my favorite Brutal/Technical Death Metal bands, and they are really at the top of the genre currently. I can't think of too many bands better than them. There are others I like, but those are the ones that came off the top of my head.

RE: Random Thoughts - Bey Brad - Jun. 24, 2008

brutal/technical death metal? do people just carp make up genres now

RE: Random Thoughts - Synesthesia - Jun. 24, 2008

Well, the technical part could be left out, but that genre has been around for a long while now (and yes people do make up genres, ever heard of "porn grind"?)

Edit: Porn Grind, or whatever they call it is suppose to be a group a musical morons who got together and fused porn lyrics with the horror that is grindcore.

This:
Grindcore
Stylistic origins: Crossover thrash - Crust punk - D-beat - Thrashcore
Cultural origins: mid-1980s England
Typical instruments: bass - drums - guitar - vocals
Mainstream popularity: Underground
Subgenres
Goregrind - Noisegrind - Pornogrind

RE: Random Thoughts - Bey Brad - Jun. 24, 2008

fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

RE: Random Thoughts - Synesthesia - Jun. 24, 2008

Never have listened to any of that carp myself, or read any of the lyrics, but I'm pretty sure the lyrical content and music more than earns it the genre name.

Goregrind absolutely sucks on every level of it. It's absolutely the most horrible style of music I have ever head (next to the obvious/brittany spears).

RE: Random Thoughts - Bey Brad - Jun. 25, 2008

So I got my MacBook back today, top case and HDD replaced, but Apple tried to pull some BS on me saying that the crack over the SCREW on the bottom case was my fault due to mishandling, which is carp. I also see that there are some really dark, thick scratches that weren't there before I brought it in for repair. I called Apple and yelled at them until they agreed to fix the bottom case. So I need to bring it back in, ugh.

On the plus side, my Tiger disks weren't working so the installed Leopard Grin
