I'm still kind of new to competitive beyblade, but I do know that making combos are very important. But how do say combinations, part names, and if they work?

As for performance, the Winning Combinations at the WBO thread is a good place to see what's trending in the meta. Eventually you just get a feel for which parts are good or not based on the shape, the weight, the contact points, etc. You know what works or not based on experience.
