Burst Remake Only Tournament (I'd Like Your Input) - Mike.Nightwing - May. 23, 2022 I'm planning to host a tournament that only allows the remakes of the Plastic Gen & Metal Fight layers with all disks and drivers as usable. Do you think there should be any banned parts for this format style? RE: Burst Remake Only Tournament (I'd Like Your Input) - DeceasedCrab - May. 24, 2022 Nah. Let's just try it and see how it goes. I'm sure we're going to figure out kind of fast which are the overpowered parts, but it'll be cool to see what people show up with. Probably a lotta Wolborg, but maybe some of the interesting reprint parts from random boosters. RE: Burst Remake Only Tournament (I'd Like Your Input) - Garishi - May. 24, 2022 12 year old me is stoked! I agree with Crab on bans, but I wonder if you might want to reiterate the BK rules re: modifications since I’m sure people will be tempted to use bent vanguard what with these layers’ less than stellar burst resistance. RE: Burst Remake Only Tournament (I'd Like Your Input) - KIO - May. 24, 2022 Like Crab says, probably best to keep everything unbanned to see what sticks. RE: Burst Remake Only Tournament (I'd Like Your Input) - p0l1w4g06 - May. 24, 2022 All MFB layer destroy everything? Do you think there should be any banned parts for this format style? My concern with this is that the power levels of remakes is uh, very disparate. LLD is miles ahead of every other remake, it is an offensive powerhouse with rather low recoil. I suspect Driger V2 will be a very scary prospect too, maybe moreso, but that is speculation. I imagine those two would be staples, and might be something to at least try out to check beforehand - but you can also just see how it goes I guess! Burn Phoenix has also seen meta relevance and has a nice spot in GT, but isn't on the level of LLD. I don't think the drivers and discs will pose so much of an issue though they may mean lighter layers get even worse. It may be worth cutting it off like GT does, excluding Wheel and the DB discs? But really, that's more about how you envision the format. RE: Burst Remake Only Tournament (I'd Like Your Input) - DeceasedCrab - May. 24, 2022 A lot of the remake layers have low weight and almost non-existent teeth. RE: Burst Remake Only Tournament (I'd Like Your Input) - Broyeeto - May. 24, 2022 This format would be lightning L drago city. And I love it lol. Driger v2 will probably also be good because it seems like it has metal weighting and all that good stuff. I’d probably run LLD nexus+s x’, Driger v2 over zone’+Hasbro z (if Driger turns out to be bad, most likely won’t because of how it is, I’ll swap) and gravity Perseus on giga drift (this one will prob be changed before the other two tho) Not quite 100% on that deck but this format seems fun. |
