Layer Base - Slash - p0l1w4g06 - Dec. 25, 2021

Slash (スラッシュ, Surasshu) is a Layer Base released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Gatinko Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-134 Booster Slash Valkyrie Blitz Power Retsu on March 16th, 2019.
==Desciption==
Slash, like its predecessor Cho-Z Valkyrie, is a right spin Laye Base that features three large wings as the primary points of contact. Unlike Cho-Z Valkyrie, the wings are noticeably thinner, and have small holes inside in addition to being mostly hollowed out.

In theory, the design of slash is meant to make it more aerodynamic and flick opponents with its blades. In truth, the hollowed design winds up harming Slash’s viability as it lacks any weight to put into its attacks. Futhermore, the wings are flat which increases recoil and gives Slash poor burst resistance. Even prior to the release of Judgement and Zwei, Slash’s light weight makes it a very unsuitable pick for Attack combinations.
==Overall==
Slash is meant to be a good Attack base, but it’s lack of weight makes it unable to compete with the much heavier Cho-Z System Energy Layers such as its predecessors Winning/Cho-Z Valkyrie and Cho-Z Achilles for Attack, though it could perform equally as well as them, and it’s lack of raw power makes it unable to compete against Judgement and Zwei, as well as later layers.

As such, Slash is meant for collection purposes only.
Note: Is slash even useful in Limited since it’s so light?

Nope, not really. bX, zA, and tN all do the same job more efficiently and effectively.
However, I will say that, despite the presence of Cho-A and Cho-V, Slash actually saw competitive use in the early GT era. Of course, once Judgement released two months later, well, we all know what happened then.

One thing that bears mentioning is another big factor why it is bad:

It self-bursts a lot due to the shape of it's contact points, iirc. Flat, big contacts are usually not ideal for burst resistance.
