Blade-Prominence - p0l1w4g06 - Oct. 24, 2021

Prominence (プロミネンス, Purominensu) is a Bladereleased by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dynamite Battle Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-191 Overdrive Special Starter Set on October 2nd, 2021.
==Description==
Prominence, like its predecessors Revive/Dead/Perfect Phoenix, is a defense type blade with  a 4 bladed outer perimeter. As part of the Dynamite Battle Layer System, it can accommodate both the high and Low modes of DB Core and armor combinations, and features a gimmick to burst twice.
To Burst twice, the four bladed outer perimeter making up the wings, known as the Prominence Shield is attached to the rest of the Layer by a mechanism independent of the Layer-Performance Tip locking mechanism, unlike its predecessors, but it can still parry impacts with the opponent akin to Tornado Wyvern's free-spinning Layer. However, the loss of the Prominence Shield makes the Layer much lighter, and Prominence lacks its predecessors smooth perimeter, only having 4 small blades that form a recoil inducing square shape.

On the plus side, by changing the alignment of the Prominence Shield, it can be changed into Heavy Mode, where the attachment is much harder to knock off. This makes it able to withstand attacks from foes longer.  The Normal Setting is better for countering attack types by messing with their performance tip, while Heavy is better for dealing with Stamina types to try and out-spin them with its round shape hindering spin equalisation. On both modes, the Shield creates an incredibly round and thick perimeter capable of parrying hits and reducing recoil.

The shield is meant to be a hazard for the foes by interfering with the opponents’ tip, but unlike its predecessors, it lacks metal, making it easily flung away by heavier combinations.

Prominence has very poor stamina compared to its predecessors due to its more spread out weight distribution, and lack of metal from its predecessors, only able to outspin Attack combinations due to the latter’s generally lower stamina, but it is capable of taking down opposite spin combinations due to its shape with the shield equipped.
==Use in Stamina combinations==
Prominence can be used in the stamina combination Prominence Phoenix/Belial I/Belial II/Spriggan Tapered Bearing'-10/0. The tough teeth of the aforementioned cores, as well as Belial II’s burst stopper, can reduce recoil taken after losing its armor, while Tapered’s Low lying nature and the aforementioned armor weight distribution allows Bearing' to bolster Prominence’s poor stamina and allow it to outspin both same and opposite spin opponents.
==Use in Defense combinations==
Prominence can be used in the Defense combination Prominence Phoenix/Belial I/Belial II/Spriggan Giga/Over Drift/Moment-10/0. The tough teeth of the aforementioned cores, as well as Belial II’s burst stopper, can reduce recoil taken after losing its armor, while the heavy weight of Giga/Over plus Drift's plate/Moment's hemisphere helps it resist getting knocked back by opposing attack types.
==Overall==
While not as good for defensive uses as its predecessors, Prominence’s working gimmick and low recoil design, makes it a top-tier choice for countering Opposite Spin Combinations.

As such, Takara Tomy's Prominence is a must have for competitive bladers.

Spriggan has good teeth? Universe and Drift are good for defence? Put spinning same spin opponents with Prominence and Bearing? Tapered when you can have Over?

tapered is still viable but mediocre spriggan is actually good on a dash tip because of the number of locks is has.
Drift has amazing defence but nobody talks about and is overshadowed by its LAD.
You could, I guess put prominence bearing isn't the combo I would use or be very good but it is decent combo tapered scrapes a little less and in deck format you should probably use over on rise is you have rise

To Burst twice, the four bladed outer perimeter making up the wings, known as the Prominence Shield is attached to the rest of the Layer by a mechanism different to what connects a Layer to a Performance Tip and will only release once a Prominence combination loses a click. Since the Prominence Shield has a weaker lock than most right spin DB cores, it parries impacts with the opponent akin to Tornado Wyvern's free-spinning Layer. However, the loss of the Prominence Shield makes the Layer much lighter, and Prominence lacks its predecessors smooth perimeter, only having 4 small blades that form a recoil inducing square shape.

Despite being marketed as a Defense type part, Prominence isn't very good at fending off both same/opposite spin attack types. As such its potential lies in Stamina:whileProminence has very poor stamina compared to its predecessors due to its more spread out weight distribution, making an inferior choice for same-spin stamina.,it is capable of taking down opposite spin combinations due to its shape with the shield equipped.
==Use in Stamina combinations==
Prominence can be used in the stamina combination Prominence Phoenix/Belial I/Belial II/Spriggan/Perseus Tapered Bearing'-10/0. I'm not home to do testing to confirm, but here's a list of things that either need further testing, or are corrections.

1: Unlike Dead and Revive, Prominence's shield has a locking system that is independent from the lower half of the bey, meaning that the shield can come off regardless of clicks lost.

Due to this design, the shield is easily removed by layers with strong upper attack, such as Guilty and Ultimate (testing needed).

2: Prominence is an impeccable example of a defence type, with the shield creating an incredibly thick and smooth perimeter capable of easily deflecting most attacks and resisting burst damage.

3: As both the Prominence layer and Prominence shield lack metal, it does not have the weight to be used as a traditional stamina type or anti-KO defence type.

However, the design of the Prominence shield may help it to equalize against opposite spin opponents (testing needed).

I used Rage against my newly bought prominence, the shield rarely came off when in Heavy.
