Forge Disc - Karma - p0l1w4g06 - Oct. 09, 2021 Karma (カルマ, Karuma) is a Forge Disc released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dynamite Battle Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-189 Booster Guilty Longinus Karma Metal Destroy-2 on September 11th, 2021. ==Description== Karma is a disc with 5 blades facing counterclockwise, akin to the 1B Chassis and King ring, with each blade divided into 2 sections. As part of the dynamite Battle Layer System, it has a slight protrusion that can support the low mode of a Dynamite battle layer. In theory the 10 blades are meant to generate down force in left spin combinations, while the larger blades means the effect is larger than Boost or Nine, it is still equally negligible. That said, compared to Boost or Nine, its blades are tilted slightly upwards akin to Cross, making it rounder and therefore less scrape prone, though it’s Low Mode centric design means it still presents a scrape risk on standard height tips. As such, it is suitable for attack combinations as its light weight can help with mobility at the cost of reduced burst and knockout resistance, though said drawbacks are somewhat mitigated by its weight being close to 0 and 00 without frames, as well as the heavy Dynamite Battle Layer system. ==Use in Attack Combinations== Karma can be used in the Attack combination Guilty Longinus/Fafnir/Bahamut/Spriggan (or Savior Belial II/Perseus) Karma Xtreme'/Quick'-0/2(for Guilty only)/3(For Savior only). Thanks to Karma's low weight, these combinations are able to move around with the speed of Xtreme'/Quick' while resisting inertia, being able to land heavy blows with Guilty/Savior's metal/rubber blades respectively. These combos will be in Low Mode fro increased stamina to potentially attempt to outspin an opponent if a burst/knockout is not achieved. ==Overall== While Karma can initially be dismissed as a bad disc due to having many similarities to Nine or Boost, as well as poor stamina compared to the much heavier Tapered, Giga and Over, the lower weight has proven useful for attack combinations, especially considering how most Attack Layers are dependent on high speeds. Karma is also useful as a filler disc in deck formats if the aforementioned DB discs are unavailable. As such, Karma is not a must have but is a welcome addition to any blader's collection. I can't exactly tell, but for the most part, it also can damage stuff like 12 does, albeit to a (somewhat?) lesser extent than it does. It also doesn't provide any downforce whatsoever because it's not aerodynamically built for it to begin with (take note of race car/F1 wings/F1 front wings). |
