RE: Gundam Models - Bae Master - Aug. 08, 2009

I throw ONE away lol. it was blue astray frame, messed it up 2 much. Used a thin tip permanent sharpie. Bad idea. When trying to save the gundam and erase everything... I made it ''explode'' (theyre so darn fragile).
UGH HOW DO U USUALLY PANEL LINE? or is it normal that panel lining with FG is just... impossible!?! T_T

edit: Force impulse FG SUCCEEDGrin
no spay paint no panel lining though xD LOL.

is it easier to panel line with HG and MG?

RE: Gundam Models - Jsc - Aug. 08, 2009

WHy dont you do the panel lining before you put it together? Im seeing that its exploding from you holding it wierd trying to do that... It seems like it would just be easier to just paint, sand and panel line every pice before you put it together right? Tongue_out_wink

RE: Gundam Models - Serotonin - Aug. 08, 2009

Jsc is right, you could panel line the parts before assembling.

You're holding the parts far too tightly if they're exploding in your hands ... :]

MGs usually have more lines to panel line, but it's not necessarily easier or harder to.

RE: Gundam Models - Werkbau - Aug. 08, 2009

how exactly did you panel line them?
my usual tools for panel lining are a very fine (0.01) ink pen, some alcohol and tissue/cotton buds to wipe any excess inks...

Well, perhaps some you want to visit this site: http://www.fichtenfoo.com/ in the forums (model help section) you can find lots of informative tips there. Or you can simply visit the blog and follow any work in progress articles for gunplas.

Another alternative website to look for informations: http://plamo.outthere.info/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=31
But beware, because majority of them are either singaporeans or malaysians. (hint: singlish / manglish)

RE: Gundam Models - Bae Master - Aug. 08, 2009

Thanks for the tips everyone! Ill give up panel lining until I get the gundam markers I ordered
Im amazed by the differences of quality between a FG and a HG, FG took me 15 min-half an hour an Exia HG, ive been working on it for 2 hours xD
this t8934573489gfsdjk is addicting.
The few FG are being displayed on the radio... even though theyre just FG they look amazing in a room...
NOW I WANT TONS AND TONS OF THEMGrinGrinGrin
and MAN such SMALL pieces....
afraid to lose 'em
ok going back to finish my exia hg

RE: Gundam Models - Jsc - Aug. 08, 2009

RE: Gundam Models - Werkbau - Aug. 08, 2009

Please, for your and our sanity, use Yahoo Japan Auctions + Mail Order Japan for Gundam Model Kits.

6x 1/144 SEED kits were around 3000 yen.

I made the mistake of buying Gundams from the US once, it will not happen ever again. Unhappy

Uuhhh, bro, I guess there should be a variation of Destiny Gundam with pink, glowing wings, and its on Full-Burst Mode.

Check Hobbylink Japan for Kits then buy them from YJA accordingly. (www.hlj.com)

It looks sweet!!
other than that,
REAL MEN WEAR PINK!!!

RE: Gundam Models - Serotonin - Aug. 09, 2009

I love GN Sword III, but I'm not a big fan of the pink sheath Bandai uses to portray the beam.

Looks great Werkbau!

RE: Gundam Models - - Aug. 13, 2009

These are great,Val. I knew you could pull this off.
Lol why did you get the SD 00 ? RANDOM. xD
And yes, I really need to get my hands on a 1/144 Exia Repair II. Tongue_out

RE: Gundam Models - Bae Master - Aug. 15, 2009

My gf got me the 00 one as a gift thats whyGrin

exia repair II sexy!! get the beam sabers from another model! Tongue_out

RE: Gundam Models - - Aug. 15, 2009

lol. So my gundam marker tips are too thick for me to panel with. I could get it done, but it would take hours of touching up, a crapload of toothpicks and be a waste of ink overall.
Was fooling around and tried to panel my 1/144 astray green frame with a super sharpened F drawing pencil. turned out well imo, just that pencil sucks on the colored plastic.

Also, tax incl. i paid 50 bucks for the 1/100 red frame and 20 for the markers v_v

No more gundams for a while i guess.
So is it a good idea to panel with pencil? thoughts? concerns?
Sharp objects to be lobbed in my general direction?

RE: Gundam Models - Bae Master - Aug. 15, 2009

did u get this kind of marker?
http://cgi.ebay.com/BANDAI-Gundam-Marker-Pen-GM01-BLACK_W0QQitemZ260449076346QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3ca3f9847a&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

i saw a video of a perfect grade red frame and the panel lining was PERFECT and FIERCE. I asked him how he did, he told me he did all with this marker.

RE: Gundam Models - - Aug. 15, 2009

camera battery is charging, so i'll post my astray pics later.

In the meanwhile, feast your eyes upon this:

Made completely out of paper.
I have a whole set of pics and the patterns if anybody's interested

Really complex papercraft i haven't started work on yet, lol

edit: be not confused, i didn't make what you see in the pics, lol

I'll start it when i have enough time. WHile i wait for enough cash to accumulate to get another HG

RE: Gundam Models - Dranzer. - Aug. 15, 2009

Sick one asterisk93. Gasp

RE: Gundam Models - - Aug. 16, 2009

So I was thinking that the red frame could look awesome if I were to repaint all the white parts black. Just for a better contrast with black and red, rather than the regular white and red. Also, the paint in question is more like a really dark gray, so I could still probably panel-line it.

Thoughts? Should I do it?
