Any TV made within the last two years even negates gaming lag. So what is your point?totally this. Honestly, I don't think 360 will be rival to those in term of JRPGs. JRPG developers, obvious from Japan (or else they wouldn't be a JRPG) would obviously aim release of game to Japanese audience, with rest being gravy. But when Blue Dragon, a game supported heavily with Akira Toriyama tie-in, two manga series, an anime series, TCG, and action figure line sells 205,000 on 360 since release in Japan I'd think I would look at other platform. Comparatively, PS3 White Knight, a game not loved by Famitsu, sold over 300,000 copies in first week despite only have online manga, and new IP on expensive console. With Blue Dragon being best selling 360 game in Japan I don't think its' figures will make Jap developer to go 360 exclusive, or even spend time to make 360 version. Top 5 360 game in Japan: 1. Blue Dragon Total Sales: 203,740 (my figure add release number) 2. Tales of Vesperia Total Sales: 155,477 3. Last Remnant Total Sales: 128,917 4. Infinite Undiscovery Total Sales: 109,630 5. Lost Odyssey Total Sales: 109,517 With that I think all non-Mist Water game on this list may come to PS3 eventually due to sales. Tales game should do better then 155,000 since it established franchise. I distinctly remember hearing about Tales of Vesperia selling like mad when it came out in Japan. Not saying your figures are wrong, but they certainly don't sound right. Yeah that's why the biggest JRPG this gen (FFXIII) is coming to 360, right? Right? Granted they aren't releasing it to 360 in the Japanese market but its already a forgone conclusion that the 360 is never going to catch on there. The fact that Square Enix decided to go multiplatform with their biggest title in the rest of the world is telling of the global sales figures between 360 and PS3. In other thread you post about Sony closing divisions(EDIT-Sorry this not you), Sony come out and say that is false. Or Lego Rockband, while Sony thing better that not true, why you allowed to use rumor and I'm not? Not saying your figures are wrong, but they certainly don't sound right. IIRC, game was released in bundle with 360 model. Probably not counted in list. But do third party company make money on those bundle? Since usually it game tossed in for free with console same price, so I don't see where third party can get money. But it probably sold more the 155,000 but I'd say less then 250,000. (Jan. 05, 2009 10:49 PM)Roan Wrote: Yeah that's why the biggest JRPG this gen (FFXIII) is coming to 360, right? Right? Microsoft isn't going to be paying for every JRPG thought of. Don't think that Micro have not brokered deal with Square, etc. Square know in Japan PS3 is king compared to 360, so why game like Infinite Undiscovery, and Last Remnant 360-timed exclusive (fact it is timed exclusive screams brokered deal) when as you say, it never going to catch on in Japan? Would it not make sense to release on PS3 first in Japan? Because you're using a rumor as fact and failed to mention that it was a rumor in the first place. RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - To - Jan. 05, 2009 The source mention it is from Famitsu and Enterbrain numbers combined. While it says there is error because when working with stuff like that it is difficult to be 100%. And I check VgChartz for Blue Dragon, it Japan number is 210,000, better, but not by tonnes. VGChartz other numbers for games: Tales Of Vesperia- 160,000 About same as Kotaku number. The Last Remnant-150,000 This one is pretty big margin of difference. Infinite Undiscovery- 130,000 another sizeable difference, but not a huge one. Lost Odyssey- 100,000 Kotaku numbers were better by a smidge. So are you going to dismiss these numbers to, despite the fact more are inline with the Kotaku post. RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - Bey Brad - Jan. 06, 2009 stop arguing about video games sales you losers RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - Blue - Jan. 06, 2009 /derail. lmao I think I'm responsible it be pretty sweet if we'd get back to discussing the next (next?) gen. or is it supposed to be about the current generation? It be cool to see some biofeed back controllers implemented. Voice control would be pretty sweet [i am aware that endwar does this]. a really good development tool kit (*cough*ssony) drive issues a myth, no red rings. 1080p native rendering, head tracking ahh that would be huge RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - To - Jan. 08, 2009 PS4 will launch with 3-D visuals, and 2160p HD options... http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2009/01/08/sony-teases-3d-ps3-tech-at-ces/#comments http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/11/19/pfft-1080p-gran-turismo-5-prologue-in-2160p/ RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - Bey Brad - Jan. 09, 2009 (Jan. 08, 2009 9:22 PM)NoMoreHeroes Wrote: PS4 will launch with 3-D visuals, and 2160p HD options... just because they did an experiment doesn't mean the PS4 will have these features RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - Sam - Jan. 09, 2009 (Jan. 08, 2009 9:22 PM)NoMoreHeroes Wrote: PS4 will launch with 3-D visuals, and 2160p HD options...i haven't clicked the links but... isn't every console since snes 3d? Select games this generation already do this. Some allow PC users to play agaisnt 360 or PS3 owners. IIRC Final Fantasy XI may do something like that too, or not with PS2, 360, and PC... RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - Bey Brad - Jan. 10, 2009 all FFXI users play together unfortunately it's a terrible game RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - rooneyt - Jan. 19, 2009 Virtual Reality would be sweet imagine a virtual reality mma game RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - Krys - Jan. 21, 2009 I would love to have some kind of virtual reality game where it feels like you're really there @_@ It'd be a nice escape from the REAL reality RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - Roan - Jan. 21, 2009 I'm almost positive 3D tech is going to make it into the next batch of consoles. The tech is already there and possible, it just needs games that support it. |
