If Lane and Shu win, Hikaru and Hyuga will go into the finals. That would make Valt and Rantaro the only team they've failed to defeat.

Honestly, It doesn't matter if Hygua and Hikaru don't beat Valt and Rantaro. But if episode 49 is the twins training with the legends they might beat Valt and Rantaro

Would be lame TBH, Hikaru and Hyuga need that tie-breaker. Lane and Shu have been winning back and forth, one loss isn't gonna kill them.
Making Valt and Rantaro lose would be point less, Lane and Shu have already showed their worth. Besides, we can see Lucifer The End being defeated by World Spriggan in training.

From 4 pm, Episode 48 "Bay Bonds !!" Lane is embarrassed by the difference between the Asahi brothers' flare and his own flare. The last round of the fifth round is a battle with Valt & Rantaro. Valt and Shu hit each other with tremendous energy. From the body of Lane who is fascinated by the battle between the two, a flare different from before ...! ??

Oh god "new flare" I wouldn't be surprised if the H bros got a Rainbow/gold/platinum flare or smthing like that

Most Probably he is again knocked out in the first half; forcing Valt to a 2 V 1 Battle as usual. They really havent treated him Very well in this tourney arc. He did not make any contribution in this tourney. (We could be wrong and he could be the MVP of this match by surviving due to spin finish while the others knock themselves out though)
