EDIT: I just went back and looked and found what you were talking about. Its fairly obvious to me that Artie is being sarcastic and referring to the fact he likes to eat meat, and was trying to insinuate that Evan was a tree hugger.

Everyone has something that gives them relief, mine being music, some people's being art, or homework, or playing video games. His happens to be something society deems unacceptable. As warped and carp up as it is, it helped him.

Ok all the things you mentioned like music, art, homework and to a much lesser extent video games, I can see helping someone. Video games are pretty iffy, but I can see someone making a solid argument for them being therapeutic. For myself, writing is therapeutic.
But there's a reason torturing animals is taboo and if anyone finds that therapeutic there is clearly something very wrong upstairs. How on Earth would that help anyone? Like, realistically.

And that is what I've been trying to get at all along. He is a very carp up person, mentally. He finally has gotten the help needed, and subsequently has stopped killing animals.

I wouldn't be ok with it. Killing another intelligent being is totally different than ducks, as humans have emotions, families, beliefs, goals in life. If a person needed to kill someone to get relief, they themselves need to killed.

Augh I just finished reading The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. Such a good book but god the ending totally ruined it with a huge cliffhanger.
Seeing as how the book was written in the 1980s I don't think there's going to be a resolution. Fuuuuck.

When did this become about my therapy? I haven't done a hallucinogen in six months, and I've done shrooms and salvia once each. That has nothing to do with my anxiety. Silas has never done a drug in his life besides take a drag of a cigarette.

I can see where Evan is comming from, but I won't go as far as to agree its therapuetic. I think though it is an outlet, a some kind of coping mech., like someone I know who would cut them selves. I was told it was a pain they could be incontrol of. It worked, but only for a short time.
Evan either way we slice it, he is getting help. Thats good. Killing animals makes me sad.

Torturing living creatures to temporarily cover up your own issues is barbaric, and the fact that it only adds injury to an already serious mental issue makes it even worse.

You do know hallucinogens (As with most drugs) stay in your system for quite a few months, right?
So maybe you should watch what youre saying here.
Also, Killing animals as a means of "Therapy", I'm not being funny, but that is not therapy, that is their excuse for being out of mind in the upstairs region, if you believe what he says about it being theraputic then not only does he need to see a psychiatrist, So do you.
