Fusion was planned to end with a spectacular battle between Toko and Dark (who is revealed to have been Phi), which turns into an actual fight as their avatars materialize and fuse with them. Nika's formed as Phi was about to finish Toko, and Nika fought off Phi for long enough for Toko to recover. Then, Toko kills Phi on accident with a trident attack, and Nika pushes Toko out of the building right as it explodes. Nika is presumed dead, although her body is never found in the rubble.

Well! That would’ve been both a depressing ending and an intense ending! I definitely see the “Fusion” part of the story here!
