RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Kai-V - Jul. 13, 2016 I also want to know what scientific methods were used to determine that the quality of the plastic is better. RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - juncction - Jul. 13, 2016 (Jul. 13, 2016 3:31 PM)Kai-V Wrote: I thought those were just rumours and that the plastic was proven to be just the same? (Jul. 13, 2016 6:06 PM)Kai-V Wrote: I also want to know what scientific methods were used to determine that the quality of the plastic is better. The plastic isn't quite the same from my experience. Hasbro plastic tends to be softer and more cloudy, which makes it slightly more durable to hard shocks. But it dents in and gets plastic stress marks. It's also slightly lighter. Takara plastic tends to be much harder and clearer, which makes it look nicer imo and it doesn't dent as easily. But it's prone to shattering and fracturing. It's slightly heavier. But of course any of these issues can happen to either brand. I wouldn't say either one was strictly better. I don't have access to any of my main collection at the moment for pictures. But it's usually easy to tell which plastic is which brand on looks alone. I hope they don't ruin the stadium design... ![]() RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Angry Face - Jul. 13, 2016 I can confirm the plastic used for Hasbro's Shogun Steel Beyblades is different from the plastic used in Takara-Tomy's Zero-G line, at least physically. I'll post back here with my results, but you can verify this yourself with weighings, a sound test, and by comparing signs of stress/breakage in the different brands parts, as juncction has mentiined (more on these last two tests in my followup post). RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Kei - Jul. 13, 2016 Yeah, I noticed in Shogun Steel specifically that the plastic seems to be different and even a bit lighter, from what I can remember. RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Angry Face - Jul. 13, 2016 Here are some weights of plastic parts from Shogun Steel/Zero-G, 4D/Metal Fury, and earlier. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HYboMgg4suUvdC9F-q-EADUb9Z8MMXr4Kh2dXEiVevI/edit?usp=sharing It looks like Hasbro transition to that lighter plastic started as early as their Metal Fury line, as they were fairly consistent up till that point, but you can definitely feel the difference in Hasbro's later material by just touch. If you were to move a Hasbro E230's disk up and down on its core versus the disk of a Takara-Tomy or Sonokong E230 on its respective core, the increased friction would also be noticeable. Even flicking or tapping the disks with your nail sounds different between Takara-Tomy and Hasbro; the harder and more brittle Takara-Tomy elevator disk sounds higher pitched than Hasbro's disk made of softer, more resilient plastic. The core of my gray Hasbro E230 also has little white lines and dents from stress where my previous Takara-Tomy and Sonokong cores simply cracked and broke off at. It might be a gram lighter than any other Takara-Tomy E230 I've ever had, but at least it's not broken, ha. Both of my Hasbro Krakens are 2 grams heavier than my Killerken, though... Is this the case for anyone else? RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Ironeye7 - Jul. 13, 2016 I don't have those beys but I saw on youtube on the BeyBladeGeeks channel they had a similar situation. RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - juncction - Jul. 13, 2016 (Jul. 13, 2016 8:54 PM)Angry Face Wrote: Here are some weights of plastic parts from Shogun Steel/Zero-G, 4D/Metal Fury, and earlier. Thanks for all your weighing. I appreciate it! Is it possible to look for mold differences? Is it the colored one? Pictures? I actually don't own any Hasbro Kraken but if it is 2 grams heavier I might have to buy a few RN. RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Angry Face - Jul. 13, 2016 I posted some pictures a few years ago, but there really aren't any visible physical differences... Here are some images of Killerken, Kraken, Revizer, and Leviathan being measured if it makes you feel any better, lol: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8P_vMklCF0GNlhBQzh1dmZSYnM RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Sıon - Jul. 14, 2016 I also hope they do stuff about fixing weight distribution, like they did in shogun steel, specifically like they dI'd in the behemoth chrome wheel. RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Deathscyther04 - Jul. 16, 2016 Hopefully we can see product images in the coming weeks, I'm really excited about this news. RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Kai-V - Jul. 16, 2016 Zankye had sort of found information that hinted to that, but it is now confirmed that Canada will also get the application in August and it seems like there might be a French version of it for Québec. Who knows. Who knows. so can we assume that US will get it about the same time as canada? RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Kai-V - Jul. 19, 2016 Yes, that is what it means. RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - RagerBlade - Jul. 20, 2016 I just read the posts. Excited for the new Beys in the next month! I can't wait to finally be able to head to Toys R Us and target and Walmart to buy more Beys! It's been a while! RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - BeybladeFanOff - Jul. 22, 2016 Not news about Beyblade Burst for Hasbro ? :-/ RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Kai-V - Jul. 22, 2016 Well, yes, Hasbro is going to release Beyblade Burst in August in North America... RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - BeybladeFanOff - Jul. 22, 2016 I know but we should not have photos this week ? RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Kai-V - Jul. 22, 2016 Hasbro is rather unpredictable, so I have no idea if they are planning something big. RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Sapphire - Jul. 23, 2016 Ugh, if Hasbro doesn't release the original layers, I will be so unbearably disappointed... not releasing the original MFB metal system beys was unforgivable enough... I mean the promo art shows V2 so I think we're screwed on that front RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Real_ilinnuc - Jul. 23, 2016 I don't really see why they wouldn't release the original layers. Hasbro will release whatever is seen on the show, as they did with MFB RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Kevo - Jul. 23, 2016 (Jul. 23, 2016 7:00 AM)Real_ilinnuc Wrote: I don't really see why they wouldn't release the original layers.Yeah, but so far only original layers have been seen in the anime. RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Ultra - Jul. 23, 2016 (Jul. 23, 2016 7:00 AM)Real_ilinnuc Wrote: I don't really see why they wouldn't release the original layers. These seem like two conflicting statements. You say you don't see why they wouldn't release them and then state that Hasbro won't release the ones that aren't the show (which the original layers probably won't be). Despite you wondering why they won't release it you clearly know already... RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Bey Brad - Jul. 23, 2016 We've already seen promotional materials from Hasbro only showing the Dual Layer stuff, and they skipped over Metal System in MFB. Seems safe to assume that we won't be getting Basic Bey (pre Dual Layer stuff), at least for now. You're right, I thought the originals were in the show. My bad. Seems like missed opportunities. |
