RE: Pokemon X and Y! - H3LLO - Jan. 13, 2013

I like having to seperate teams in the game, as well as different themes for each game, and then depending on which game you have you side with one of the teams, like in R/S. I hope they do that again.... If they did, would the teams be based on chromosomes? XD
I wonder what the theme this time would be? Well most likely chromosomes, but like the overall area. Possibly France, or at least in one area, becuase there was a building that looked like the Eifel Tower in the trailer.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - edesen smith123 - Jan. 14, 2013

hey dude i watched pokemon direct on my 3ds and i found out why japan always gets there games before us.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - xSora10 - Jan. 14, 2013

The reason they get the games before us is because they are the makers of the game.. The game still needs to be translated to be played here. And the translation takes some time, which is why the games usually take a while before they are released here.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - MirageShagon - Jan. 14, 2013

$60 for Australia, Tired

Anyways, did anyone think Yveltal's tail was a hand from the leaks? The design of it looks very similar to its wings/arms.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - Hov - Jan. 14, 2013

Yveltal and Groudon looks like they could be related based on their design . A offspring of Groudon xD lol. And this'll probably the most expensive pokemon game I will ever buy .

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - MirageShagon - Jan. 14, 2013

wait who is this certian pokemon were talking about now? the Flying one (Which i thought had like 8 hands) ...nevermind... (The ground one had an exta one on its... uh... rear?)

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - terzinaccio - Jan. 14, 2013

I really like Froakie!
But i don't like Xerneas and Yveltal.

Anyway, 2 new images

'Xerneas' is the the on with 'an extra one on its rear'.
And 'Yveltal' is 'The one with 8 hands'.

- Once again, the new images assure me that I must have 'X' ! XD

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - Ga' - Jan. 14, 2013

It's been confirmed that the starters will be pure Grass, Fire and Water like in Gen II. It might eventually gain a new type, but for now Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie are Grass, Fire and Water respectively.

Ah well, so much for the speculation.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - Luck - Jan. 14, 2013

Haha, I bet that'll all the speculation about the legendary type'll also be wrong Pinching_eyes_2

It's good to see some ' pure ' starters again Smile

Again, you reference a trend that does not exist; Bulbasaur, aka the first numerically listed starter Pokémon, is the only Dual Type starter base form. We have no information regarding their evolved forms, yet...

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - Ga' - Jan. 14, 2013

What Hazel said really.

I stated in my post too, "We don't know anything about their evolutions". They could be gaining rumored types later on, like several other starters. However, all we know right now is that the starters themselves are monotype.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - Helixguy - Jan. 14, 2013

Pokemon X and Y. I both equally love and hate this game. The potential is what is keeping me in there along with the new battle animations, but I really don't like the overworld animations, the male character looks too much like Hilbert/Black (though I am speculating there is going to be character customizations), and a couple of things look out of sorts. I also think that it is more geared towards littler kids than some of the other games. Another thing that is bugging me is that Xerneas looks like a combo of Sawsbuck and Virizion.

Well pokemon's original demographic is kids so it makes sense, I will agree the trainer looks like hilbert but then again we don't know after all beta footage...but other than that I think Xerneas looks awesome yes I can see confusion about sawsbuck and Virizion but they are different kinds of deers where as this guy looks more like an irish Elk (biggest antlers ever!)

Well, the male protags as of late have been quite... similar. Same color schemes, same hair color, similar appearances. It's a shame, really, considering how much they vary the female protags, in comparison Uncertain

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - TheSX - Jan. 15, 2013

I guess Gamefreak ran out of colours and gems xD
Seeing how they're using letters in the title this time, Imagine if the antagonist team was..TEAM ALGEBRA!! lol

I doubt it I mean colors are like numbers virtually limitless I think X and Y will hold a meaning just like Black and white did..though team algebra...*shudders* dear arceus that is a scary thought...

As for the naming system, I do have an idea:
Clearly the DNA thing will happen (X and Y are chromosomes), not the dimensions idea. You can easily see a strand of rainbow-colored DNA in logos. I hope that would allow for more Pokémon to be combined and take off from the original idea of the DNA Splicers in B2W2.

This also might prevent any speculation about a supposed 'Z' (when we really should be focusing on X and Y haha) because obviously no such renown chromosome going under the 'Z' banner exists as far as I know.

So yeah, biology instead of algebra. Perhaps they will update the breeding mechanisms in this game due to its relation to heredity and other similar areas, I'm looking forward to the possibility of mixing common Pokémon as well. Maybe not even starters and legendaries, but perhaps certain version-exclusive counterparts and such. Kinda like Synchrom for MFB Zero-G haha.

Apparently people have forgotten how to search. The Japanese logos clearly depict a DNA helix in the logo, implying chromosomes and not algebra.
That 'Team Algebra' joke is everywhere...

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - Hov - Jan. 15, 2013

Well, one thing for sure, I can't wait for the manga!!! The pokemon mangas has always been better than the anime if you ask me. Grin

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - TheSX - Jan. 16, 2013

IMO, I think the reason for it being called "X" and "Y" is because the game will be made in 3D for the 3DS. X and Y are the coordinates to make a 2 dimensional figure and they might just make Pokemon Z as well. This is because X, Y, and Z are the 3 types of coordinates to make a 3 dimensional figure. Not sure if anyone had already said something like this.

The chromosome idea isn't that bad, it seems accurate too, but seeing how the game is going be in "3D"...yeah.
Just saying..

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - drakio - Jan. 16, 2013

This is very exciting. I have been waiting a long time for them to make more of a pokemon colosseum types of battles, where the pokemon actually move when you tell them to do certain attacks. The only thing that I dislike is the camera angle. Hopefully that was for commercial purposes.

I feel like this needs to be shown an unnecessary amount of times.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - akio314 - Jan. 17, 2013

Let's get down to business: Yvetal or Xerneas? My money's going strait to Pokemon Y. Yvetal FTW! This is the reason I got my 3DS on March 27, 2011! I knew there'd be a Pokemon game for 3DS, I knew it!

Eh, not really. It's just what I thought at first then after seeing that japanese logo probably for the first time? I saw the DNA helix, and was like: AHHH, they're really just chromosomes.
Unless they release Z...but who knows other than Nintendo and Gamefreak? Wink
