RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - To - Jan. 04, 2009 I make preference later this year for christmas, and then when I do I make list of games I want on either 360 or PS3, and get one that has most amount of games I interested in. By then unless Sony like being last, both should be close near price (I'm not buy arcade). I do plan on getting Valkyria though, demo rocked. Also Brad, I have to ask, have you played on psn? esp. lately? the gap between the two services has shrunk drastically. Artie and Roan, if you arent entertained by your ps3, I dunno what to tell you. there are great games for it, so... surf metacritic? did you try the warhawk demo?! maybe you just need to buy some of the multiplat releases on it? plenty of great PSN games to play too. oh yea KZ2 llolo ---- PS3 and 360 are different consoles, don't expect them to do things the same way. Also, depending on what system you adopt first it will inevitebly used as a yard stick. For me the PS3 is more than I thought I was getting. I have enough games to keep me entertained. Surf the internet on it, watch blurays, stream media, photos, ps2 games, dvd, music, psn is free, rechargable controllers, psp conectivity. and fw support is great. anyway I don't know much about the 360. I think it can do many of those things too. I don't have one simply because I've tried to boycott microsoft as much as possible. still i have missed out on some of its IPs, but I intend to play them later. Does that detract the fact that the ps3 is capable too? no. RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - Roan - Jan. 04, 2009 lolllllll RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - mdhvdukshsj - Jan. 04, 2009 i just want to play games.... the fact that ryan and i had trouble playing LBP doesn't make any sense. no wonder it sold poorly. why the inane forcing of SP? i just want to make stuff RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - Bey Brad - Jan. 04, 2009 (Jan. 04, 2009 6:20 AM)Blue Wrote:(Jan. 04, 2009 5:13 AM)Bey Brad Wrote:(Jan. 04, 2009 5:06 AM)Blue Wrote: For me the PS3 is more than I thought I was getting. I really want to like the game but it just does nothing but infuriate me with cheap deaths. Its pretty sad when you have all of this freedom to create your own levels but you don't even want to because they aren't fun to play due to lousy carp physics and controls. RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - mdhvdukshsj - Jan. 04, 2009 i've played LBP twice. the second time went really, really, bad the physics and jumping are just so effed up. ryan and i spent like, what, 20 minutes trying to clear a simple jump? disgusting RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - Bey Brad - Jan. 04, 2009 when i've watched LBP it reminds me of the underwater levels from SMB3 RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - mdhvdukshsj - Jan. 04, 2009 SBM3 underwater controlled better RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - Blue - Jan. 04, 2009 I was just naming some features I like and use alot, as stated I didn't expect to get some. w.e lol Can you remember what level had that jump? RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - mdhvdukshsj - Jan. 04, 2009 it was like the third or fourth level in the first world or something most frustrating thing i've played in a goof while RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - Blue - Jan. 04, 2009 hmm. was there baddies? the ghost mansion one? btw there a dead space level you should check out not to defend MM, because I think the jumping should be tighter too, but given every thing is physics based i think its supposed to be inertia. its no metriod, but still very playable, try runing through tutorials again, should be a breeze. I know I did them at least 2-3 times. honestly, I think the games at its best when you have to grab and swing around. RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - Roan - Jan. 04, 2009 We got stuck in the Jungle themed area, in the first level of that area. The level opens with you inside a submarine and launching you out. There weren't any enemies that were hindering our progress, it was all because of the carp jumping mechanic in the game. Get out. The 360 has had only a few decent titles so far, while the PS2 and SNES had a whole slew of OMGWTFBBQ titles. The really only good eastern dev'd game on that list is Vesperia. The rest are all meh. edit: And exclusives still make or break the system. Exclusives sell consoles which fund your fallout 3's. yay. (also PC for the carp win) RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - SK - Jan. 04, 2009 (Jan. 04, 2009 3:05 AM)Bey Brad Wrote: what about when you decide you want to play a game that isn't an RPGnot that i'm a superhardcore rpg fan or anything, but from what i've heard, valkyria chronicles is better than any 360 jrpg btw artie and roan if you really want to clear that level i could help you out lol RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - Roan - Jan. 04, 2009 (Jan. 04, 2009 2:58 PM)FFX Wrote: Are we really comparing the 2 deepest console lineups of all time (PS2, SNES) with the 360 already? Also, who said anything about 360's lineup being better than PS2? I don't recall SNES ever even being mentioned. I said that if the current trend of huge 3rd party support for 360 continues then chances are that 360 will have a PS2-style library by the end of its life cycle. RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - mdhvdukshsj - Jan. 04, 2009 that's flashfox aka i like low res because i'm that unique RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - Roan - Jan. 04, 2009 Oh ok. Makes perfect sense now. RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - FFX - Jan. 04, 2009 PS2 has been rightfully mentioned as one of the best gaming libraries since SNES, so to compare 360 to PS2 is akin to comparing it to SNES. Comparing libraries obvious includes depth of gameplay, exclusives, etc. As for liking SD, try playing competitive shooters on an HDTV with over 30ms of lag. CRT is still king. RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - Roan - Jan. 04, 2009 Ok the fact remains that I'm not even directly comparing their libraries. All I said was that by the end of the 360's life cycle I expect it to have a vast, top-notch library similar to PS2. But if you want to keep arguing semantics, that's perfectly fine with me I guess. RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - FFX - Jan. 04, 2009 yeah, but when you compare them, what are you comparing? number of titles? depth? either way the comparisons shouldn't even be close. vast top notch titles means that it should have the same number of good titles, mixed with good exclusives. thats what made PS2 and SNES king. to compare them, one would have to start there. I don't see how there is any other way to compare them,. RE: Next Gen Hardware Predictions - Rocky - Jan. 04, 2009 ...........didn't he just say he wasn't comparing them? |
