Maybe you're overreacting. I doubt that she'd misunderstand that your parents said no. Also, your mom needs a break SOMETIMES (Assuming you meant her when you said "Out with her boyfriend"), so it shouldn't be blown out of proportions. Also, if you don't want to lie then tell the truth. Yeah, it must suck, though. I'll say that.

I see nobody read my post on trying not to gossip ... This is for boyfriends and girlfriends. If she has a boyfriend, she is not your girlfriend.
Actually, I think this could be a good start to straighten up this thread more : post if you have a girl- or boyfriend, not if you are trying to get one or whatever. Surely this could bring a better quality of posts, no matter what the opening post says because the conjunctures are quite different between then and now.

I think the hormone you may be thinking of is oxytocin. However, oxytocin as the "love hormone" is a misnomer. The initial stages of lustful attraction are triggered by a mixture of adrenaline, testosterone and estrogen, and the real good lovey dovey feelings come from a healthy helping of dopamine and serotonin - the same chemical receptors activated by narcotics drugs (and chocolate!)

And after prolonged exposure to the specific mixture of chemicals, your brain gets a bit bored with it and decides it's time to watch television.
That's when the effort of maintaining the relationship is fully on you, and that's typically when most relationships fail. Without being lovedrunk, most teenagers just cannot manage a meaningful relationship. It's a sorry fact, but the experience does help later.
Also, as for chocolate, if you're looking for a little happiness in food, extremely dark chocolate(70%+) of high quality is what you want to shoot for, in case anyone was wondering.

No, you really don't know the difference. Very, very few people in this thread do - and that's normal. i'm not trying to say 'i'm amazing take that!' I mean that I know that you shouldn't think that every relationship you're in is love, it's clearly not. and i'm not saying I think i'm more mature than other 12 year olds, but like my cousins and that are always saying i'm less interesting, because I don't get hyper and that. I'd much rather read a book than jump about and run around. Sharing your personal life, or at least some details of it, with your community is what helps make it stronger as a whole. It gives us something more to talk about - and inexperienced users can come to people who do have experience, for advice, criticism, or just a nice conversation about whatever romantic is going on in their lives.
I am largely opposed to this thread in its current form myself, but the idea is still a theoretically sound one.

You wait for her response en proper, without nagging her about it. If she says yes, you take her out for a respectful dinner, a nice movie perhaps, etc. and don't try anything funny the entire evening. Don't be too serious about it, but still treat her very respectfully.

Right now my boyfriend, John, and I are doing amazing. It's been almost 3 months now and we still have a really good and balanced relationship. Sure we've gotten into a few fights, but what relationship doesn't? I just wish we had more classes together than Biology haha

same here, Bey-heart, for some reason today I got way more popular, probably cause I did something I wasn't meant to do, and apparently girls like bad boys... all I did was our bus wasn't there, and we were all meant to go to the hall, to wait, but me and some friends and some girls snuck out and went to the toilets and wandered around school, and then when pastoral chased after us I walked past them and they didn't say anything, lol. its all on facebook. but I don't really care about other girls liking me, i've got my GF kayleigh, and shes the only one for me.
