RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - Bey Brad - May. 02, 2009

MCM left this message on the Spinoff thread and LOCKED it:

Admin Wrote:For your information MCM Expo have not been giving anyone the runaround!

We only had an initial contact with someone last year who decided that he did not want to commit his time to showing the game at the show.

Before posting further please email: paul@mcmexpo.net and explained what you are trying to ahieve to him.

Admin

What a load ... Chozen has been contacting them constantly and has been told someone would "get back to him". In addition, I e-mailed the address given months ago and never received a response. I sent this email to it now:

Bey brad Wrote:This is absolutely not the case. The person who has taken over the event has been phoning the MCM Expo every week and has been constantly told that someone would "get back to him". Of course, nobody has. In addition, I sent an e-mail to this address ages ago and never received a response.

The organizer of the event will be sending an e-mail to this address. As I'm the director of the WBO, but not the organizer for this event, you should deal with him, not me. However, to say that we have not been given the runaround is a lie, and is due to a lack of communication between people within the MCM group. Obviously, someone has been taking calls and not making note of it.

We are not trying to be hostile, we're simply frustrated because we've been working towards organizing this event for a year and have received little in the way of communication from MCM. The expo is three weeks away now and we're nervous that nothing can be done at this stage. Please do your best to work with us as many people are already confirmed to attend MCM simply for this event. Thank you.

Nice reply. I liked this part:

Still, wow, just wow. I certainly hope future stuff goes better than this. D=

RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - Aqua - May. 02, 2009

That sucks Unhappy Spinoff is getting pretty close, maybe you guys should start looking at an alternative place to host the event, just in case....?

RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - Rocky - May. 02, 2009

^ Where on earth would that be? If we thought of an alternative place then we might as well just think of an alternate tourney. Plus i8t's already been advertised. Spinoff will be held at the Expo. It's just a matter of whether it's outside the main event (be that inside or outside) or inside the main event with MCM co-operation.

RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - Bey Brad - May. 02, 2009

I'm in contact with Paul now, hopefully we can sort this out and everything will go ahead.

RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - Rocky - May. 02, 2009

Wow. I'd given up hope for it actually being official as it's so close but if you can actually do something then great. Gasp Is Chozen even willing to do the stuff Espio posted though? Pinching_eyes_2

RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - Bey Brad - May. 02, 2009

I was just told that to host an event there, we have to pay for any floorspace we use. If that's the case, this event is canceled. We cannot afford to do something like that.

Information will be posted as it comes.

RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - Ash - May. 02, 2009

*Breaths Heavily*

Hopefully this can all go to plan...We'll eventually get through this. I just hope that this is official, as I don't want to book tickets and it doesn't happen there.

Alternatives would simply be outside the Expo...

EDIT: How much to pay? Crying

RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - Rocky - May. 02, 2009

Well......if we really can't do it then, we can still have a tourney elsewhere. Or even on a different day. *sigh*

And Driger, it'd prolly be a lot. Pinching_eyes

What a rip off. How much would it have costed use then?

RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - Bey Brad - May. 02, 2009

Looks like we're screwed, guys.

RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - Zander Soulwind - May. 02, 2009

This is when beening unemployeed really annoys me, if I had the money then i would gladly pay for it.

Couldn't we still hold it somewhere near there?

RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - Ash - May. 02, 2009

God damn it Angry

Hyde park would be my choice, but would they get pissed off if we held it outside the expo?

RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - Bey Brad - May. 02, 2009

I don't know the area well, but if anyone has a suggestion for a venue near MCM if it can't be held there itself, tell me now.
The price for the bare minimum space we need would be thousands of dollars.

*Mouth drops open* No way.

Anyway, I can only see a few grassy areas around it that might be OK but that is a big might. Here an overview image.

RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - Bey Brad - May. 03, 2009

So here's the situation.

Beyblade Spinoff is CANCELED at the MCM Expo. We would be charged thousands of dollars for the space we need. Espio was told that any space we provided would be paid space. Chozen had not been proactive enough in trying to contact MCM Expo. Frankly, I'm really disappointed in both Espio and Chozen for failing to ascertain this ...

I am the director. I was not to be present at this event. I had to rely on the UK representatives of the WBO to focus on this project. Obviously, there were major failures of communication there. I sincerely apologize that we won't be able to go ahead with this event as planned.

We are talking about rescheduling this event to the week following MCM Expo. If anyone has a good idea for a venue, please speak up. Thank you.

RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - Blitz - May. 03, 2009

Well this wasn't the news I was hoping for when I got back from work... This really does suck, damn expo >Unhappy
Luckily I didn't pre-order my tickets otherwise would of wasted some money, cause I wouldn't go to one of these things normally.
I don't really know London well only been there a couple of times, but I hope we can find somewhere to do this, was really looking foward to it Unhappy

RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - Bey Brad - May. 03, 2009

I'm pretty much a wreck because of the news as well.

RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - Pich - May. 03, 2009

Crying
Can't you guys just change the location to a nearby park or something? I'm pretty dissappointed. =/

RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - Khel - May. 03, 2009

This is really disappointing. Unhappy

But one thing really bugs me; how on earth do you not know that you might need to pay for something like this? Isn't this one of the first things that one should ask? I'm just kinda perplexed. I truly hope you guys can sort some sort of a Plan B. It would be really disappointing for no event to be happening.

RE: Beyblade Spinoff: UK Revolution - josh-jf - May. 03, 2009

I feel really bad for all you uk bladers i can imagine how alot of you are feeling. I hope you manage to do something else Unhappy

Yeah, I posted the address for a nearby park but I don't think it's gonna happen there.

D: This has all gone wrong.
