I'm still buying and renting NEW PS2 releases. (KH:COM and Persona 4)
It's going to be a very long time before i move away from our current next gen platforms.
The development time for 'triple A' titles is huge at the moment and i can only see with new consoles that time increasing.

i just read an article about smelling through the net,u can smell thing u see on ur computer
,maybe the next gen consoles will be able to make u smell while playing.it will be koollike when somthin is burning u smell burning,and when playing cookingmama u can smell food

There was a Futurama episode about something similiar.
Anyways, that sounds kinda crappy............or at least I don't think it'd be worth the amount of money it would cost to produce. Plus if I'm playing a shoot 'em up or something where you kill people, I don't wanna smell the smell of, well, dead people.
Plus I don't think this is actually possible. XD

why not,they made a machine u attach to ur computer,the machine makes chemical reactions,the computer sends orders to the machine to make the kind of chemical reaction that produses the smell.
believe me it is possible,and about the bad smells,if u dont want it then u can disable smell just like disabling the rumble

i want it to be used in every game in small amounts.
for example if u r playin racing game,u smell smoke when smoke comes out of the car,u smell fire when u use nitros,when u go to gas station u smell gas

Though I wouldn't mind using it in Harvest Moon. Country, food, flowers, produce, you could get a lot of interesting smells from that. Still, I don't think many people would buy it. The whole concept is weird. XD
Would it be like a gas mask or would it just release smells into the room?

Sony has phones in Japan that release scents, I'm pretty sure they haven't been released outside of Japan for a reason.

as i understood from the article,the smell isnt real,the chemical reaction makes the nose think that the smell is real so u smell it,when the reaction stops the smell will immediatly stop!

Hey I've thought about this too. I think it would be cool addition...
still I like to see tech like the hacked wii sensorbar for 3d, ie change view based on head orientation. old news
that would be a great upgrade for the next gen.
